I guess its best for you to do nothing then...just sit on the internet and type why things wont work out. This is the real reason this movement wont get a voice, or get a position, or get to articulate...because every arm chair quarterback has decided to do nothing, but voice an empty opinion.

This post is not meant to be a negative post to you, just my reply to an ongoing theme of apathy, from people with alot of opinion, but not much "muster", it seems.

With that charming, apologetic post, how could we (Tea Party) refuse?

Why not join the Tea Party then.

In fact this sums things up pretty accurately imo:

The accusation of vagueness is a great way to attack the movement which is explicitly about the mishandling of our financial system by the robber barons in Wall Street.

Doesn't seem very vague to me...

"Fascism is the merger of corporate and government power."

I agree with you. But, I'd like to see the OWS refocus on DC, personally.

I work with them already Beezer,... why do I need to pick one? I just cant sit by and watch the old continue to screw things up, I feel it is my duty to step in and stop their insanity. The Tea Perty started out with good intentions, then these wishy washey following tired old one, just blow in the wind and allow any Politician to influence their thoughts...

Actually in my opinion, the Tea party is not organized either, they are a bunch of worn out idealists who realize they have been fooled for 40 years....The OWS kids don't want to be that stupid....We don't live in a protesting country...these kids dont know how to mobilize yet, but at least they are persistent, they will get traction as some point, and guess what...you will jump on board just as soon as some influencer that you like, tells you too.....

well i am not going to support or join a movement that does not represent me or my wishes. If you do, then you lack convictions. I am sorry if i can not be guilted or brainwashed into joining your movement. Why would someone support something that they do not truly support? Furthermore, why is it so important to the OWS people that individuals like myself support you? I am sorry, but I guess that 99% is a figment of the movements collective imagination.

Unlike the Tea party OWS see the financial crisis and corporate greed as a global issue not just an American issue. Problems that cant be fixed using traditional politics that are seen to be part of the problem. How would joining a Tea Party have an effect on corporate greed and a global financial crisis. It might help in getting Obama out of office only to be replaced by Republicans, would that really change things?

The tea party is a group of rich Republicans who just want to maintain the crumbling status quo. They want everything to remain just as it has remained for decades. They don't want to see change. They FEAR the very mention of change. Why? Because the word "change" implies the changing of the guard. Tea party folks certainly don't want to see that happen.

It is not "my" movement. If you are too blind to see, it is not my fault. If you are too closed minded to grow, it is not my fault. If you like your current situation, we agree to disagree.

The children in my neighborhood understand what is happening to this country..I am sorry you do not. But I am sure you are one of the ones who put us here over the last 40 years...so I understand your position.

Wrong. But I'll let it go as you are probably an angry youngster, who doesn't have the years of experience that many of us have.

So now that I wish to not be part of an overwhelmingly progressive movement I am closed minded and choose not to grow? I never said I was happy with the current situation. I see you are resorting to the typical progressive method of going to the insults when someone does not agree with you. I am one of the ones that put us here huh? I came up from nothing man, my family scraped and scrounged for everything.I am where I am now because of hard work and dedication, not through government programs and charity. Do not presume to know me,my personal struggles or what i am happy with. In light of this comment I think you may need to rethink your username a little, because it seems to be a bit of a misnomer...

Good point. They don't have to join the Tea Party (in reality, it would seem rather silly) but they have to at least acknowledge the hypocracy of lambasting a group and then defend their own movement using the same approach.

In a word? Wrong.

But I can see now that gettng an apology from the OWS defenders is going to be as easy as getting dieting tips from Michael Moore.

You are absolutely WRONG!!!! I am 42, raise 4 kids (all honor roll), earn six figures, ex-army, independent politically, charitable in my community, gun owner with permit, land owner with MANY acres, own outright a 3,400 sq ft home, own outright 2 cars, self employed business owner....

I am sure I blow past your years of "experience"....It doesn't matter though. Ill continue on, you'll continue on...

You could not be more WRONG though, of who/what I am!!! LOL

I laugh everyday at the sheep with slave jobs, debt, no retirement, no cash, supporting parties in Washington, looking for a savior. I forged my life in America...no one gave it to me, and no one will take it away, and no one will tell me what to think, cause I proved to everyone in my life, that the "old" way is stupid and broken.

That's fair enough, it's clear we all like showing up others hypocrisy on this site and I can understand those on the right wanting to make the most of this opportunity with the ding bat fringe of OWS as many of us on the left enjoyed reveling in the video's of the more extreme fringe of the tea party.

I never said I make $302,000 annually...you did! I am not greedy, I am charitable...you said I was greedy. I am charitable by my actions in my direct community focused on the kids who dont have what I believe they should have....I pick out kids in the community making straight A's, working hard...and if they are legal Americans, I contact them through the school and help them in different ways. I do this with a few other "Angel Investors" in our local community. I am not a Christian either.

Well, seriously...good on you. it is nice to hear of people helping their community on their own, rather then by force of government. Hats off to you in that regard sir.

I am not a communist or socialist...Sometimes people need a little help. I choose to replace "people" with "kids". Sometimes KIDS need a little help. For me, paying $200 out of my pocket for a kid to learn, say 6 months of "Kung Fu" at a friends school, builds up self esteem, confidence, goal building, self worth, and all sorts of good internal strengths, so he/she will grow up a fighter and not a quitter. Also they learn self worth...just cause a kids parents are POS, doesnt mean the kid needs to be. Im trying to break the cycle of dirt bags in my community PERSONALLY. (yes Im pretty selfish)

BTW when their 6 months are up, they can continue for free through "acts of service to the community through the Kung Fu school". This helps EVERYONE...

DOING THE RIGHT THING IS EASY FOR ANYONE TO DO.

Thank You. I am sure you are fine as well. I just don't want to fight. I understand my posts are "aggressive". I did not intend to offend anyone. All this Tea party/OWS disconnect is weird for me...we all want the same thing...we are just going about it differently. These 2 groups need to talk and realize that.

Have a great day. I'm out this thread.

Thats the thing, The way I see it, these 2 groups do not want the same thing. They do to a point, but not the end result. They both want to end the fed and corporate corruption, then their goals diverge. After that divergence, the groups are pretty much at odds. The OWS is overwhelmingly a progressive movement, while the tea party is overwhelmingly libertarian. Those 2 ideals do not go hand in hand. Just because they share a couple maybe even a few goals does not mean they should be co opted and work together. Both groups should stick to their guns so to speak. maintain the strength of your convictions, if they do not, neither group is worth supporting, because they are both weak in their devotion to their goals.
