What are some of your favorite words in the English language? For the sake of convenience, let us include words with either phonetic or semantic properties as admissible. A word can either sound beautiful or define something beautiful. I'm curious to see some of the responses!! This can include words that you find compelling, if not "beautiful" per se.

Here are a few of mine:

Riddle
Quizzical
Oblivion
Ethereal
Ineffable
Ancient
Demure
Diaphanous
Pleiades
Infuse
Enduring
Corridor
Abide
Cloak
Cascade
Forbidden
Phantom
Chalice
Opulent
Sphere
Zenith
Amorphous
Ellipsis
Esoteric
Aurora
Purr

Oh and let's just get "cellar door" over with.

The list goes on...

I wonder if there is any software available that could actually do a word count to see the most frequently used words on this site. That would make for an interesting read.

Actually, I don't like that word at all. I read it in an article this morning, and thought it was a typo until I searched it. I was hoping to forget about it. I blame your thread title for causing me to remember it, so I figured I would share it.

Whats 'option C'??

I'm not gonna choose either of those.
I'm not gonna bow, and I sure as hell don't wanna feel it, no matter what you call it!!

Most of the uncommon english words actually come from french, a lot of the words you seem to like are derived or directly from french.
