Another example of the type of "great man" steve jobs was. www.reddit.com...
Keep blindly worshiping the rich and famous though, that's what got us in this screwed up materialistic world where the rich and powerful own everything in the first place. Gods have no power if you don't worship them. We got ourselves in this mess.edit on 6-10-2011 by darkest4 because: (no reason given)

Steve Jobs can easily be compared to the Beatles. Both revolutionized something.
You're right, he revolutionized the corporate world by proving that Chinese worker extortion to perform work to meet goals for stolen projects can get you on the cover of Forbes. Then again, Bill Gates did it first. Woops...

Breaking through the Cult Of Personality is hard to do for some people.
They can't accept that someone might have more flaws than good points.
My favorite inane statement is the "great people have great flaws" nonsense.
I'm sorry but a great flaw is still a great flaw, no matter how much money somebody made or what they brought to market.
I respect his skills as a marketing genius, I do not respect the man.

Are you kidding, there's more worshiping/praising "what a great man, the world is a much sadder place now blahblah" posts than anything, there's one right above your post rofl.edit on 6-10-2011 by darkest4 because: (no reason given)

I can tell you right now I never disavowed a child of mine forcing her to live in poverty while I took private jets to Hawaii, and I never cheated a business partner. I also never made any of my employee's feel inferior to any other employee's or abused them in any way, and I never used 3rd world sweatshops as suppliers.
I have my flaws, no doubt about it, but compared to Jobs I'm a saint.
If you buy into the bible maybe you should read the part about false idols. I'm pretty sure Jesus wouldn't have thought Jobs was worthy of praise.

I’m truly saddened to learn of Steve Jobs’ death. Melinda and I extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends, and to everyone Steve has touched through his work.
Steve and I first met nearly 30 years ago, and have been colleagues, competitors and friends over the course of more than half our lives.
The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come.
For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely.
