TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - A new Florida law requiring drug tests for welfare applicants has found them to be less likely than other people to use drugs, not more.

It's a very short article. So this law forces people to get drug tested as though they are criminals, at tax payer expense, while reinforcing the myth that the poor are nothing but a bunch of junkies. Interesting that the AP article is so short while the initial articles were so long. It is but a blurb, and most will never even see it.

I've got a couple brother-in-laws that are constantly unemployed, always asking for money, but are never short on mary jane....imagine that.

It's not that they do not use drugs, some would if they could, they just cannot afford them.

The same reason people on welfare do not go out for dinner as much as middle class, or go to the movies..
