This person is my distant cousin, 23-old self-taught innovator Mate Rimac. ..
First he make electric one from old BMW and after this Concept One, incredible success ..

"Concept One"
The car has an electric engine that produces 1088 HP!

0-100 Km/h in 2,8 sek.
Topspeed 305 km/h (limited)
Range: 600 km (way more than a Tesla Roadster)

After teasing its electric Concept One more than a month ago, the little known Croatian automaker, Rimac Automobili, has decided to present its 1.088 horsepower supercar at the Frankfurt Motor Show, in an atmosphere which reminds us of the Bugatti Veyron’s debut.

Rimac Automobili’s Concept One comes with the classic recipe of four electric motors powering each wheel and delivering a total of 1.088 horsepower and an ever more impressive amount of torque: 3.800 Nm or 2.802 lb-ft, but being a fully electric vehicle, the supercar’s torque is probably available at low RPMs. I know that you probably think that an electric vehicle can’t be named a supercar, but weighing 1.650 kilograms, the Concept

One can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds (0 to 62 mph), being electronically limited to 305 km/h or 195 mph. And now let’s talk about its range which is not 100, 200 or even 300 kilometers, but the supercar can travel 600 kilometers or 373 miles on a single charge. I wonder what Tesla Motors has to say about that. “I believe that the electric motor is a much better machine compared to the ICE, in almost all aspects, especially for a sports car”, said the CEO of Rimac Automobili, Mate Rimac. It seems that the small

Croatian automaker came to life after Mate Rimac converted his old BMW to a race EV, but those who want one of the electric supercars will have to wait a while because deliveries will be starting in 2013 and the production of the first model is limited to 88 units.

The production of the Concept One will be limited to 88 units, starting with deliveries in 2013. Rumour has it that the Abu Dhabi royal family has already singed on for a Rimac of its own.

Tesla Roadster owned by German electric company RWE visited Zagreb, Croatia on its 2010. European Tour. Mate Rimac, young Croatian inventor challenged Tesla Roadster with his BMW converted into VST electric race car. Drag race happened on the streets of Zagreb (please do not try this on your streets, it was done with Croatian police help). Tesla Roadster 0-60 3,9 sec, BMW VST electric 0-60 maybe 3,4 sec or less. Go electric!

The sad part is that most people will think you can get that amazing acceleration at each stoplight AND still get the 600km range. It will not.

If it used new battery chemistry that stored more energy per pound (400-500times as much as current lithium batteries), then sure it might be able to do that. Even if they could make a fuel cell that used normal gas from the pump, 95% eff. and 1000HP per 50lb fuel cell, then you would see the world would change.

The EV industry is still up for the taking ya know. I feel as long as a person has to plug in to recharge, its never going to be satisfactory for majority of the people. Now if it came down to operation time sayyyyyyy 200,000 hours of available run time someone might be on to something.

That's cool but nothing will likely beat a car that unwinds a spring to propell forward and that is a fact; it would blow anything out of the water. And re-charging is way faster also.Cheers
