Tell me about your last visit from the Jehova Witnesses!

Seriously.. the old dude doesn't even make a squeak! I try to imagine that these are TV characters visiting my house It makes the whole ordeal go more smoothly.

Umm, sounds pretty much like devoted catholicism, apart from few details. Get me right, I'm not saying it's better than major religions, im saying it's not so much different. At least military service refusal is big point for them.
Besides, a lot of it depends on congregation your in, and your parents. My JW friends listened to music they liked, wore clothes as they pleased, and socialised with non-witnesses. Just sayin...

I just opened the front door wearing a t-shirt with an inverted pentagram on it to the tunes of AC/DC blaring in the background.
They decided pretty sharpish they were barking up the wrong tree and buggered off without so much as a wave of the Watchtower in my face.

Is there anything in common between the Jehovas and the LaRouches? Both groups seem to have an "urgency" about their work. Like the world is always ending... maybe something in common with doomsayers there.

Destruction of world is pretty much element in every single religion. They vary though what will happen after, but generally if you were obedient enough, it might play out well for you.

I was at my moms a couple years ago last time they came a knocken. My mom is not what I would call sweet natured.So I hear knock knock knock and go to answer the door theres these two standing there looking all spiffed up in there best meet n greet clothes and all of the sudden our dog pushes them over and makes his way into the house.
Well my mom had just mopped the floors and Panzer was covered in mud. So then all you heard was "who let this mother f@*king dog in this mother F*&king house. I'm going to bend you over and a$$ rape you and see how like you it."
Needless to say they got the look of satan get thee behind me and ran the hell out of there. It was the best thing I've ever seen.

ok first the post on the first page is wrong. JW is not like that. i am studing to be one an my husband is one. please dont call me a troll because i am not. just wanted to say that they/i am no diff than u. we go door to door to share what we believe. other come to boards like ats to share what they believe

When they come to my door, I usuallly know them, cause I was raised a JW too. If I don't know them, (it's been a long time since I was "in", I tell them very nicely that I'm Disfellowshipped, and if I need anything from them, I can go to my family that are still JW's. The family that shuns me when they see me in stores and whatnot..
SUPER loving place to be...

Well I am a simple guy and over the years I have gotten better at dealing with them.

the last time I wanted to engage in conversation. but they always run to a plethora of Bible versions and this supposed Greek text and that Greek Text, usually the Vaticanicus or the Siticanius. so I spent most of my time trying to get them to a point where we could use one Bible and that Bible only to discuss with so we could keep it simple.

They said ok Which one? I answered how about this old Bible I have here it is an authorized version? Oh No that is the worst one. I said really it has all the Bible verses in it that your new world translation left out. So I took them to a few to show them what I meant. But then they wanted to go back to some odd version or some supposed original Greek text not a one of them ever saw a day in the lives.

I said we aren't going to get anywhere if we don't stay focused with one Bible only. It is like trying to get a hyperactive kid to sit down for 5 minutes and pay attention.

They left wont come back because they will have to use just this one old AV Bible that has all the verses they don't like in it.

Don't feel bad I was living in Japan and they found us there too,can't run can't hide they will find you.My husband let them in one time(very curious and loves to debate)well by the time he was finished with them they were looking for a way out,it was hilarious.

Was outside with a friend , having a cigarette , and two very pretty young girls came walking up to the step. It had me curious because it was rather late, and dark outside.

They began talking about God, and asking us how we viewed the world.

I responded that I thought the world was in a bit of a mess, and I wasn't too sure what to think about God at that moment, and sometimes wasn't even sure if he indeed existed.

They were very polite , and we had a good little conversation for a few minutes.

They weren't pushy , and very respectable.. and almost naively sweet natured.

My friend and I thanked them for the conversation, and sincerely wished them the best for their futures, and told them to be careful considering it was dark.

My friend commented on how pretty they were after they had walked away....and I agreed with him ..and we both were a little concerned about their well being , talking to strangers when it was late and dark out. I would have wished they would have had a male along with them. They were both under 20...I'm sure.

They appeared to be really sweet nice girls, and I hope they are doing well today.


The time before that was when a friend and I were bringing an electrical organ to another friend's house .

Two Jehovah witnesses..guys this time.. and young as well.. in white shirts and dark pants came walking by, as we were waiting for the dude inside to come help unload this really heavy organ off the truck..

They actually offered to help..which I thought was pretty darn nice of them , but just at that time the other guy came out.. and said no..thats ok we have it under control.

They never tried to preach to us at all (maybe cause they saw we were busy) .. and again were very polite and well mannered.

Thanks for the stories I enjoyed reading. The Jehova's are really nice and in this f****d up world that goes a long way I never considered joining them because I don't care for organized religions. Next time they stop by I'll let them know I'm no longer interested in the material.
