Masturbation is a sin/overcoming that filthy habit.

The Lord Jesus Christ taught us about lust here is the verses:

But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. -Matthew 5:28-30

Here Christ says you shouldn't look upon a woman with lust because you are committing adultery with her in your heart. It's better to maim yourself rather than enter Hell! He used that analogy to make a point about how serious of an offense it really is.

The Bible has a lot to say about lust

“I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman." -Job 31:1

"Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes." -Proverbs 6:25

Do not lust! Masturbation is lusting after women who is not your wife! "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own, you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." -1 Corinthians 6:19-20. You are not your body but it's a temple of the Holy Spirit. You are polluting and defiling your body when you masturbate.

1 Corinthians 6:13b-15 “The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. By His power God raised the Lord from the dead, and He will raise us also. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ Himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never!”

Wipe the pornography off your computer and shred and printed materials and turn to Christ he can free you from self abuse. Pray to Christ daily day and night when Satan seeks to tempt you to abuse yourself in that manner.
"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." -James 4:7 Satan hates the name of Christ, call on Christ to help you when you are weak and Satan will leave your presence. Sing hymns and or recite scripture verses when the Father of Lies tries to get you to sin.

You can overcome sexual immorality! Don't be a slave to that sin!

I am fairly certain that particular part of the bible has been created by man. The real God wouldn't give a [snip] what you do, as long as you don't kill his people.

No it's not. It lowers blood pressure, eases stress, and is totally natural. Animals engage in it, just like homosexuality.

Yet another reason to give up on religion when yet another enjoyable activity is a "sin".

wow you need a chill pill, sex is a huge part of our exiatence, deal with it the bible has alot of good but this is one of those ideas that makes jesus christ look like he knew absolutely nothing about us.

So a woman has to honor her husbands wishes according to the Bible, right? What if her husband asks her to masturbate for him? Would this also be a sin? And who would be committing the sin, wife or husband for asking it of her?

I am sorry that you subscribe to a belief system that would make you feel that way. Very Very sad. It has got to make your life just suck.

Wow! Really!? Give me a break. I have looked "lustfully" upon attractive women my entire life, but have never laid a hand on them, nor uttered a derogatory word to them either.

I made a oath to myself after my last break up to stay celibate until I find my Soulmate/Best Friend and it has lasted flippin' years! Not to happy about that, but if we cannot be true to ourselves..how can we be true to another, eh?
