Looks like it's not going to be quite as powerful as expected. If you watch the Hurricane Tracker, you can see the Wind Speed has decreased to 105 MPH right now. No longer a Category 3.

Not saying this isn't going to be a dangerous storm, however, it is continually getting weaker.

Thats still pretty fast, and just because wind speeds lowers doesn't mean it can't do a %@$% lot of damage. Hopefully it will continue to die.

They'd predicted it would do this and then jump back up to a Cat 3 by the time it makes landfall. God's speed to all those in its path.

Yes, thats a good thing. The size of this storm even in a weakened state will still bring hurricane force winds and conditions for a prolonged period of time over the OBX and Tidewater region starting tonight and continuing through late Sat into early Sun. Even a weakened storm will still be a lot to contend with.
We are old pros at hurricanes here. I worry about the folks up the coast who dont know what they are in for.

Hopefully the water to the right of it is warm enough to pull it away.

Whos they that predicted that? Hurricanes, get power from the sea. The ocena water is what gives em strength to grow. its their fuel. as soon as they hit land..even a small isalnd, they loose power and start to downgrade FAST.

What? You mean this storm isnt going to wipe the entire east coast off the map, cause 97 nuke plant melt downs and cause all of humanity to devolve into a world of chaos and evil? And I thought the Dark Lord cometh??!!
