How and why did Saddam and Iraq think Osama Bin Laden would need a safe haven? Safe Haven from whom? In my opinion i think Saddam did help Al Qaida in the months and years leading up to Sept 11th. The attacks of Sept 11th were probably planned years in advance. I know Al Qaida did not wake up one day and decide to attack the US. They had it planned and if Saddam didn't help he sure as hell knew it was about to happen. If not, why would Saddam offer safe haven for Osama?
