Can there be people on this forum trying to spy on you?

I mean would there be any people on this board that would like to spy on fellow members? Like say packet sniffing, remote statistics/keylogger bots, RATs or other malware.

I mean for ha ha passive aggressive jokes and all.

I'm sure there are members here that are under the employment of government agencies with the sole purpose to derail and spread disinfo.

As far as all out spying goes though.. I don't think so.

I starred and flagged this thread because the replies are going to be a hoot!

As to the topic, could you lean over to the left? Ahh, thanks. (and you might want to switch to diet Dr. Pepper.)

99% of the population is stunningly boring, like me. Spying on others means you realize you too are terribly boring and are deperately seeking any stimulation to signify you really are above plant life status.

I spy on people all the time, just copy their username and paste in into google you'd be surprised how many people on here use their real name or a username they use on other sites...

BTW ATS doesn't allow you to change you username because supposedly it would mess up their database integrity which being a web designer and MSQL programmer myself is complete BS to me...

on any site you have spy's it is the day and age we live in, would ATS members do it knowingly? i hope not, but then do we really know each other, some might work fro the feds or a Gov out sourced corp that does this for a living, some might do it for "fun" and if you think they will admit it... you need help. no one will say what they are, not in the open or if they do they are not. Not till they knock on your door.

Uhm, that google your username thing interested me.
MODS???? Are other websites supposed to be picking up entire posts?
While they source ATS it is reformatted as if it was actually posted there by me.
Two separate posts (including my intro???) on theendtimesarehere.com

And this is the only place I use that name so, as they indicated, this is the only place they could have gotten it.
Are they allowed?

Edited to add: they have ads all over the site, so they are using your user generated content to steal your ad revenue potential....

ATS is home to the paranoid, so of course there will be those who "research" things. Makes you wonder about those people you flamed in past posts, huh? There was a time (perhaps) when there was honor among thieves, so to speak, but those days are gone forever. It's truly nobody's fault though, it's been a fact of life since google published their search engine, and will probably never change. Best to keep your private life off line though...

Like say packet sniffing, remote statistics/keylogger bots, RATs or other malware

Packet sniffing would require direct access to the hosting server, we can get the IP of the server, not the other users
remote statistics, like what? cookie tracking? This, keylogger, and any other malware would require an entry point, an exploited url linked in a thread, a hijacked paid ad, something like that.

Pretty much, without hacking the server, people can't get very far.

Are people nosey and curious about other people? Sure they are! I think we all have (a hidden spy) in us.

My question is...are some of the members of ATS...involved with organizations ...where their specific job is to spy on people.

Maybe there are some members on ATS....that are (persons of interest) in unsolved criminal cases....thus...they are being spied on.

I agree and feel I qualify for the 99%
. Remember though, these days you have a lot of sad people who's loyalties are easily bought and sold. (OP, s/f)

i think you will find a few on every site who like to spy on others. some people are incredibly nosey by nature, to the point where they will even tell you about their exploits regarding what they've found about other people. the 'net has provided a great past-time for all sorts of people who are stuck at home for whatever reason.

then there is the site itself. the 'net is a system built by government. government has unlimited resources in both funding and access to the think-tank types who are paid to help shape the future. 'they' know what's what way before it comes to our level, hell, they invented the game and wrote most of the rules to begin with. if i were 'them' i'd have sites like ATS built so i could easily monitor the lunatic fringe.

down deep, most people are good-hearted slobs that wouldn't cross the street to harm someone or cheat on their taxes. i think the bulk of the most dangerous people in the world are on a USA payroll to begin with. the rest of us are just anonymous cartoon characters who love their families and sometimes vent a little steam via the PC keyboard. i doubt the truly dangerous are going on public forums and spewing about what they've done or what they plan to do!

Why would any ATS members want to spy on you. To be honest your user name gives out a lot of personal information and now makes me want to see if I can find you on a social network. Dont be worried though. You are safe! I suppose anyone could spy if you used very negative key words, that could be alarming to the safety of others, etc. but ATS members have other things to do like discuss issues.
