Bright Light caught on Camera. Explain this?

I was taking a picture of this cloud that looked like the Incredible Hulk or a monster on the side of it was this small cloud dragging along. So, I figured I would get a picture of it as well. To my surprise this was the outcome of when I took the picture. No light was there. Pretty Cool.

Isn't no water bubble either or a mountain dew cloud, or even your bogus Chinese Lanterns. No light was there when I took the picture.

wipe your lens clean, I see other distortions too.

and the thing is probably an insect.

it's obviously a reflection.

Looks like you caught a fly and some rain drops in your flash. I cant see the Hulk either.

Looks to me like an insect that is being refelected by the flash, or another external light source.

I have seen the same thing in many photos that I have taken thrugh the years, if you are near a porch light, it is hard to get a picture without one entering the frame.

There are no porch lights on, And no insect to be that bright, unless it was a firefly.

Your analysis is correct, there was no illuminated object when you composed the photo. Then the flash reflected from your friend to be captured on digital film. This is not an artifact, they are real.

What was the light source that illuminated the portion of the roof seen in the picture?
And very well could have been a firefly that yu didnt see because yu were focussed n the viewfinder of the camera.

I haven't seen one firefly in this area. I've seen them NY and camping trips. My camera is on Auto.

Why didn't the flash show up on the other 36 photos? It's just that photo.

Because that was the only photo that an insect flew into frame. Even the smallest insect can create a flare like that in the shot, depending on hw close to the lens that it is. In order for the flash to show up in every shot, the insect would have t hover in front of you for the entire time. It was probably just cruising by and moved on.

It doesn't need to be a firefly or any insect that emits light.

The cameras flash has "bounced off of", or reflected off of an insect that happened to pass by at that frame.

You have been correct all along, IMO, this light was most likely not the result of anything ordinary entering the frame. It is very unlikely that an ordinary reflective object could saturate the camera sensor as it has at the distance suggested by your photo. Instead I believe you captured something truly remarkable.

The light in your photograph displays the same characteristics I have seen several times before while researching this phenomena over the last few years. Thank you for sharing.

I put this in photoshop and it has a bright mass to it. Don't think no bug could do that.

A camera flash can catch anything.
This is diamond dust, miniscule droplets of frozen water, at varying distances from camera.

That's not inside a window. I was outside on my knees taking the pics. What makes you think it was taken through glass?
