A dragon fly can fly 60 mph, we had a gazillion of them at my house when I was a kid, so many of them my brother Dale would try to shoot them. I saw dragon fly one day when I was a kid and I saw one fly really fast and become a UFO. Totally unreal.

I find your post interesting because of an experience I had when I was a child. I do believe that UFOs can appear to be something more familiar to us than they actually are. I've never been sure what I witnessed was intentional mimicry or just my own mind filling in a blank on something so foreign.

I used to go hiking, way up the side of my neighborhood mountain. I would walk through various different farms. First, pineapples, then sugarcane, then a mango grove, then oranges. More often that not, not 1 but 2 good sized dragonflies would flank me, and escort me on my hike, both up and then back down the mountain.

After thinking about those time, I think how lucky I was not to have ancountered nefarious intentions, being so far away from civilation. I choose to think it was the dragonflies protecting me.

Yes, and the most ironic part of it all is that Dragonflies are the most efficient Predator of the sky!

Could you imagine the 2-foot Dragonflies that once filled the air of the Carboniferous Period of Earth's History? Hunters, deadly hunters, let us hope the UFO was just a comparison and not an analogy!

A few years ago I was at a TOOL concert in New Orleans and out of chance I had the pleasure of meeting Adam Jones, a bandmate of TOOL. Anyway, to make a long story short, he handed me a dead dragonfly that he had sitting in his tour bus, perfectly preserved, and then took a picture of me with it and my friends. Ever since then dragonflies pop into my life quite frequently and I can't help but think of that time when I first started holding significance to them.

'Transformers, more than meets the eye'

I know, as fact, that there are man made devices out there that appear similar to insects, flying insects to be specific.

I m not sure they can turn into a UFO, but they most certainly are equipped with cameras for spy purposes.

When the dragon fly, you witnessed, turned into a UFO, what was the size of the newly formed UFO? Did it turn into a massive UFO or did it stay very small, relatively speaking?

I also want to ass that your thread is a direct reason why ATS is such an outstanding forum and place to share stories and opinions. In lesser forums, or websites, you would be fired up for posting such a short story with little to no background information.

Instead, here you get other people sharing their stories and opinions, all without bashing the OP for sharing their experience.

Every once in a while someone will come along and start degrading the OP authors of threads like this one, but for the most part they do not.

That is what sets ATS apart from leser forms, in my opinion.

So, thanks for your story and thanks to the members for allowing threads like this one to progress into something, instead of derailing it with uncalled for remarks.

Ohh, ohh my turn, my turn........

When I was young we used to doogigety the wondersumaflunders when they would swarm during the sacred time of hootinannyism. One time, while partaking in the doogigety of many a splendid womdersumaflunders, I witnessed one morph into a ganiacapy. Was truly the most amazing thing. My entire village hoisted me up on their shoulders and placed me on the sacred throne of the deceased mystic of hootinannism (captain crunch).

Yup, thank goodness summer is almost over and the kids will be going back to school. Too bad that wont really help raise the bar around here though, lol......
