Yes this apparantly takes away from the legitimate ufo science

At least this show has some historical information that is useful.

The main thing is that there is a show on a main stream television channel that will at least plant the seed of aliens into peoples heads. Which is perhaps a tool to desensitize the idea of aliens, which I am all for.

Sure some of the things in the show are pretty far fetched, and they talk like some of guests on the shows theories are facts...but I find it enjoyable and people I know who aren't into sites like ATS talk about this show with interest. So its doing its job.

I don't think the show is bad for ufology. It doesn't present any skepticism to anything presented but that is not unlike other paranormal television shows. I just see it as them presenting their theories and it is up to the discretion of the viewer as to what to believe. It is presenting a lot of UFO cases that are not well-known, and there are many UFO skeptics out there who believe that UFOs are a modern western phenomenon when this show proves that that is not the case. I'm glad it mentioned the Aurora, TX case in this episode. The show does more good than harm I think.

The next episode is titled "Aliens and Monsters" and I think it is comparing aliens and mythological monsters (like Medusa). It's kind of something they have mentioned in other episodes like dragons or the thunderbird in this most recent episode.

I do think this show is bad for Ufology. They use so many uncredible stories and accounts that i always end up believing less in UFO's after each episode. They are totaly grasping at staws , its weak science fiction at best.

I mean the Book or Mormons ?! Seriously....?

I wasn't even aware of this show until a few days ago, so I downloaded season 1 and will probably begin watching it tonight. In the meantime I looked it up on wikipedia and was a little disheartened at the write up it got, claiming it's mostly pseudoscience.

What was way worse was the fact that there were 5 commercials for the movie during the original airing of this on the History Channel. It stripped any credibility (which is not much) from the episode.

Whoever told you is wrong. I've just been watching the previous series and it tackles things appropriately and has the appropriate 'experts' giving their opinions on it and everything on it is appropriately researched and gives enough information for people to follow on their interests in different areas.

These reviews were written only by journalists and not the relevant historians involved in the specialist areas. As we know from the whole Murdoch extravaganza, journalists are the ones that create pseudohistory however television critics don't even do that, you can't even say they have created anything!

The show has respected academics and historians (from places such as oxford university) giving their professional opinions, I have not seen anyone counter these points yet.

I dont think its bad at all. This is basically is the closest thing we are going to get to discovering we were visited in Ancient Times. While i do think there is an abundance of Circumstantial Evidence its all we have.

Season 3 !!!
What is there to be told that hasn't already been covered in seasons 1 and 2 .
Seasons 1 and 2 must have seen good ratings so I'm guessing a cash in , milk it dry then move on .

Does anybody know whether they showed the film story about " Jonah and the USO," instead of "Jonah and the Whale?"
It is a matter of extreme importance too me.
Thanks,

No the one last Thursday was about the Old West and Indian Tribes. And the one this Thursday is about Human/Animal Hybrids. Im predicting the new episode will be all speculation.

Between the jumping to conclusions and the incredible leaps of logic, it's a wonder this jackrabbit doesn't jump of a cliff. The majority of the show is presenting wild and baseless speculation as probable or possible fact.

And that narrator, am I the only one who finds the stilted way he talks irritating? Does he really need to pause every third word? It's like someone showed him what a period was and he just went hogwild with it. Not that the sound of David Childress' and Giorgio Tsukilos' voices aren't annoying themselves.

On the flip side, it is an interesting show that certainly sparks the imagination. Good mindless entertainment with a truly thought provoking point every now and then. But for the most part just entertainment, nothing less.

You've been told wrong my friend. It's a great show, though "UFO Files" is much more straight up. Ancient Aliens kind of focuses on how humans have wrongly interpreted aliens as gods etc. So it kinda mainly focuses on that idea, but there is still a ton of information of UFO sites, UFO history, very real ancient sacred sites all over the Earth, and more. It's a great show to say the least, you should check it out. What do you have to loose? If you don't personally believe the ancient alien theory, than just watch the show for mere facts regarding ufo cover-ups, sightings, energy fields etc. I myself disagree on just a very few things they have said on the show, but I still love Ancient Aliens.

Looking forwards to the second episode of this season, this week!
