Sighting in Tenerife 1960's - 70's

Hi everyone,

this is a Request for Information about a supposed UFO sighting in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife (Canary Islands) about 30 or 40 yeras ago. A long shot, I know, but:

I consider my source to be absolutely *bona fide*, i.e. he would not lie to me or make up a story. It is unlikely he used hallucinogenic drugs and his wife, although reluctantly, corroborates his story.

This is - roughly - how it goes:

A large, cigar sheped object, hung over the town of Purto de la Cruz. It had lights around its middle perimeter and large nut-like objects were visible around its lower perimeter. The object hovered htere for a while (from the account I recon about half an hour to an hour, immobile) and then disappeared.

Although Puerto was a relatively busy town even then, no-one else seems to (want to) remember this incident. But perhaps others - foreigners or other neutral bystanders - saw something, or other records are available.

Please help me with this. Any comment or hint will be greatly apperciated.
