F-18, you can tell by the tail and the bulge from the dual engine intake on either side of the fuselage.

Thank you everyone. I will look up the F-18's role and purpose through some research. I already see it has multiple roles as both a bomber and a fighter. It even says it can be used as a tanker to fuel other jets if needed.

What an amazing piece of machinery.

I like the vertical climb:

They used to buzz the house in my old neighborhood at really low altitudes, but I never saw them do the vertical climb, except at an airshow.

It is not only an F-18, but as has already been correctly pointed out on the thread, but not acknowledged, it is one of the more recent Super Hornet models, F/A-18E/F/G. This is easy to tell due to the wider, more rounded shape to the LERX just ahead of the wing, when compared to the longer thinner shape on earlier models.
