Ok ATS astronomers, chime in as to whats up here, I have no idea, but it looks big...

No doom and gloom here, just really want to know what this will/could do...Will this cause a CME?

Some more information please for those of us who are unable to watch YouTube vids at work. How big is the comet? What is it's offical name? When will it hit? etc. etc. etc.

Thanks,

Okay, so I found mention of it on spaceweather.com The comet burned up before it struck the sun on the 5th of July. Nothing happened.

No BS. And not unusual. There was a comet.
Since its launch, more than 2,000 comets have been discovered with SOHO. This was most likely to have been a Kreutz group comet as are most of them.

Yeah, I know, I corrected myself after I saw it on spaceweather.com. SOHO has indeed been a vaulable tool. Thanks.
