List of secret societies. Post any you know of.

I want to compile a list if secret societies so plese post a name and small description of any you know of, or have heard of.

The obvious are things like Rosicrucians, Masons etc.
You're still welcome to post 'em but nothing new there.

Order of the hospitalers, maybe one you get the point.

Order of Malta?

Mirthful Me's right...and that "large list" is pretty small in comparision to the number of fraternal and secret societies that do exist (or HAVE existed) Steven's 'Cyclopedia of Fraternities (last published in 1907) lists HUNDREDS of 'em. As a ritual collector I have over 2,000 ritual texts in my library, but many are variations from the same groups....still there are over 300 different organizations rituals in my collection and this does NOT include the Masonic ones.

To cite a few less heard of:

The Anti-Horse Thief Association (no, I didn't make that up)
The Order of AHEPA
The National Farmers Alliance
The Order of Pyramids
The Order of the Iron Chain
The Order of the Gordian Knot
etcetera, ad nauseaum....
