Anonymous attacks Monsanto

I have to say that I'm not sure what to think of Anonymous. Like Wikileaks, there are many reasons to question what sort of allegiance these groups have.

In the case of Wikileaks, it's been documented that they intentionally withhold certain information from publication. Through the use of reductions, and cherry-picking what gets published, they censor much of the information they possess.

As for Anonymous, there's a current thread on ATS that does a decent job of at least problematizing most critical thinker's ability to be blindly obedient to Anon.

What I think is most important, is that neither of these attempts at subversion serve to legitimate Obama's censorship and/or shut down of the internet. That's what I've got my eye on.

Yes but, Internet Protocol is only about 15 years old, (if we equate the 1995 HTML Era as the 'birth' of the Internet) and therefore, true sharing of minute to minute knowledge, has only just begun. Peer to peer I.P. communications and computing power of databases (or qaedas, if you will), are tools which the past could not even have imagined. Nobody back then imagined this much computing power. Naturally as a result, drugs will be free, and those who profited will be sad to see that day. Like the people who sling the term "conspiracy theorist" around, you see they are admitting the information war is lost? Because though conspiracy is fact not theory, it takes MUCH INFO to even get close to tracing the secrets of these corporate powers that have ruled for 500 years +.

So I am describing a natural process over several centuries: The people in power, are steadily losing ground. Slavery was lost, humanity = winning. Information-war (keeping the bible chained and literacy down) was lost = humanity WINNING bigtime, because Reading is Fundamental. Computer war = in early stages, nobody can predict the outcome.

Soon, drug war ends (already losing its foundations) and then free drugs to all, which will mean humanity = winning. I would be happy to deal with a drug problem on a family-to-family basis as opposed to having Janet Reno gain mega-power from managing it.

Then, sex war ends as well (gay marriage, child sexting, politicians dressing as women, etc) and we will be that much less hypocritical, which means mentally integrated and guilt-free. Then, even when those wars have ended and we have begun to mourn the psychosis which waging them wrought upon our planet, we will still have issues, and wars. It'll be simpler issues like gender war and race war, and the eugenicians are circling the DNA helix like serpents themselves, hoping to devour some tasty egg from the nest of humanity, once the moment (so close at hand) arrives. Gender wars, race wars, ah yes, the "Genetic Warfare Units" of all countries are firing up, deep inside their bunkers.

You can visualize the end of all conflict, of course, and if enough people do it, then all wars can cease without having them grind down to their inevitable, bloody, conclusion. We do not need "scorched Earth" tactics, we can simply predict where the enemy will go next, and meet them there, with superior calmness and spirit.

How does this happen? Well it happens in your mind, and if you re-read this post slowly, and understand what I am saying, then you can get up, you can walk away from your monitor, and be a completely transformed person. You can be a person who sees through all the bs, and sees straight to the end of all wars: You can understand this and be beyond all wars.

But you would then see these organizations of warmongering companies, as being irrelevant, and un needed. And these are the lynchpins of today. So if you decide to end war, you'll need to make people love low-scale farming. Stalin tried it and failed. Somehow "Joe Steel" does not sound like a guy who is in tune with nature. I suspect there are low level gardening names which the new US version will choose. Perhaps he'll call himself, "Joe Seed"? Haha, no but seriously.

I'm behind Anonymous 100% here. If they have the capability, they should hack into their email and research systems and download all of that for all to see. Destroy the company by pulling back the curtain if they can. Go WikiLeaks on them. Monsanto has firmly established themselves as an evil entity. I have no pity on them for whatever Anonymous has in mind.

It will take more than hackers to stop these inhuman mad scientists at Monsanto. The world will starve and they will profit. They need to be thrown in prison, everyone that works for them. The lapdog media will not report what they are doing. The people need to get it out EVERYWHERE. These dumb generations need to WAKE UP!!!

I know former Monsanto employees and that is one shady place to work. There is subtle brainwashing to laud their evil products to everyone who will listen. Employees tolerate no criticism of Monsanto, even when they bring up a controversial topic.

Agreed. Break in, get the real data on the claims of what they are doing, socially engineer a mole. Monsanto and mega-corps like them don't give two shakes about their web site. Their's is a bottom line mentality, that can only be hurt once you have the real goods, but once you get that, go hide, they are not aboving hiring special people to hide the evidence.

Monsanto are some pretty bad eggs , the enviromental genetic pollution that the worlds going to be left with once there finished re-arangeing DNA is going to be a big problem for a long time.
I support what Anonomous is , people standing up for themselves and what they think it's a shame it has to be done Anon.

Hm... I would question the authenticity of the OP's video. Firstly because the IP address the attacker enters into the PyLoris is wrong and even when the attack is started the application floods the console with error messages getaddrinfo failed. Hence, this was either not the video of an actual attack or there was no attack and the video is a fake with some metal music to distract you.

Secondly whoever shot this video is not too careful about hiding his/hers identity. If this was a proper and successful attack I would imagine we'd see only the attack window doing it's job and the proof of www.monsanto.com being down. Nothing else. No taskbar, no google chrome, no windows media player running in background, no desktop image and absolutely no list of IRC channels.

This to me looks like a kid wanting to get some attention on youtube and nothing more.

I admire your positive outlook -- but, while I agree that the "pre-IP world failed to realize information would be free" the effect of overwhelming the sense works better than censorship.

We are barely civilized apes for the most part, and the barrage of information might be what causes us to NOT ACT on information. Like the way violent video games and porn actual reduce the amount of violence and rape in a given region.

"Slavery" might have ended as a WORD in the USA, but Abercrombie and Fitch, Disney, Levis ... it's all just exported. Capitalism without minimum wages and safety standards can get workers far cheaper than the cost of housing and imprisoning people.

In Haiti, people work for $.35 an hour. There was some Union busting going on, and the businesses down there refused a 6 cents for hour raise. It's not like it would be a blip on the radar -- a worker might produce ten Jeans an hour that sell for $35 a piece ... I suppose the capitalists just like the principle of keeping people down in the dirt, and making people merely survive on wages makes them less of an issue. If they suddenly have extra time to think, or extra income to change their lives -- that only leads to trouble for Big Business.

It may be true, that the majority of citizens will cheer to see Anonymous hackers punished, and will cheer Monsanto's new genetic folly, in the same breath.

But, this world is nobody's to destroy. And that is the true principle of Earth: It wants to live, in spite of humans. So the humans who get right with it, will stand a better chance, than the evil ones.

Yes, I understand the fear behind your words here, but really, everyone knows seeds are great, and I guess dying for seeds is not enough to make one a Catholic saint, but in my church, it's enough.

Fighting for seeds, means fighting for future generations, grandchildren you do not yet have. This is obvious.

When you say "Gates" do you mean Billgatus of Borg, or former SECDEF Gates? I had not heard of XE being bought by Mudsento. Tell us more.

But yeah, assasins are useful, history has proven that. Surely the Dutch East India company had rules for putting down mutinys on their ships, and surely the rules applied no matter if the cargo were above board like sundries and goods, or below board like rum and slaves.

Hmm, maybe a lot of the dirtwater dudes are also great farmers? I mean you need to have a gun to scare varmints off your cabbage patch so I would expect a good farmer to be prepared to defend his crop, no matter if that crop be medicine or food, you know? Maybe "the people" (not the soulless-shareholder-people represented by Mudsento, but actual humans) can hire their own mercs to farm their own crops and defend those crops against poachers and carrot stealers? Not SECDEF Gates, but the Software Architect and lately philanthropist Gates ... and it was a couple years back .. and I was just dumbfounded ... I had images of black vans, and Humvees with automatics aimed at farmers and families while the dog hid behind the tractor and the 3-pices suit guy was pulling out legal papers.

They've made some bad blunders .. suing people who never bought their stuff, and only had wind drift "evidence" in the genes of their crops. .... So .. they are not only walking on the wrong side, they are making a general muss up of it .. which I won't say is bad ... after all.

I just don't have the insight to the XE mindset .. that is what I was pondering.

How is it that people who are left over from the second and third ages of mankind (??? --supposition!) and did not evolve too well morally .. can pull down the cash to manage such grandiose things? .. Their buddies are really well off as well, and the tech is fairly well developed.

You may scare some of the weaker and more fearful ones here. But know that some of us that frequent this website are not so fearful and will fight to the last breath and die if necessary when the time comes. Some of us are not only ex-military but are also killers and won't hesitate to die for our cause whether the foe is from within or without. So instead of me opposing you and your defeatist philosophy , how about you join us instead of pointing out all of the negative "What might happen" scenarios and at least try to support someone that is actually trying to do something beneficial for a change which is a helluva lot more than 99% of us here are doing. Right?
