Al Jazeera television has aired a videotape it says is from guerrillas loyal to radical Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, who say they have kidnapped an Iraqi police officer.

The Arabic channel says Sadr's Mehdi Army militia has abducted Brigadier-General Ra'ad Mohammed Khadr.

The militia will release him once the Interior Ministry frees detained members of the group.
