Its unlikely considering the senario of that movie was them coming for our water (laughable)...middle east is pretty dry...probably one of the more safer areas on earth to be, beyond eastern europe...they were taking the beaches and draining the oceans, so coastal areas are the main targets.

Judging by the retarded movie plot, I am sure that a Battle LA situation in the middle east would end just as badly for the aliens when an elite group of half a dozen Al Qaida singlehandedly assault their command ship and behead the lead alien.
