Crayon, can I ask what you used in the search to find that post? I thought going to the post would make it obvious but I still have no clue how you found that.

That would be correct. It was just a hunch really. There was another clue that used the oldest post in the forum I believe.

Something about the "4th" clue keeps nagging me.

Every 4th letter led us to the "THE FOURTH RING IS DEEP IN ATS" message and the thread clues you all so quickly solved.

Looking at the resultant list of solutions, every 4th solution in the list is preceded by its number (4, 8, 12, 16, 20). The only solution preceded by its number that does not follow the pattern is 22. However, 2+2 = 4. (stretching?)

Each numbered solution uses a different numbering punctuation, except 12. and 22. :

Since "4th" is still up on FTR, maybe this has signifigance. Or maybe it is a red herring.

drlau, I agree. I was going to point that out but then I didn't really think that it had much significance... but who knows?
