So a guy has his Laptop stolen and isnt getting much help from the fuzz, he decides to activate some Tracking App he downloaded and to his surprise it works!!! hes able to see the coordinates of where his lappy is and see photos of the guy who stole it, he eventually figures out its a taxi driver and gives the cops the address.
Due to being understaffed the police still cant help him but after setting up a blog about it and getting on twitter the resulting media flurry forced cops to act.

"It feels like the power of the Internet is on my side," Kaufman said. Under pressure from media outlets, the police were forced to take a second look at the case, and on the night of May 31, the thief was arrested.

OK so its good that the guy gets his laptop back and its great that we can get Apps that let us do this but it all just seems a bit too easy.

I cant help but think there is a possibility TPTB if they chose to would be able to do this to anyones PC.
