I've read a lot of prophecies regarding the near (2+ years) future and america being in a state of civil war resulting in the break up of the U.S.A as we know it into socialist states of sorts. Also related to this and a potential cause are elections/cheney still being in office in the future, etc..

Does anyone believe this? Heard any prophecies regarding this? I don't believe U.S.A would ever allow itself to break up into smaller states. Personal opinion.

I suppose the main prophecies concerning this have to do with Titor. Whom I personally don't believe. I also can't honestly see the United States breaking off into smaller states. I mainly believe this because as I look around I can't imagine the men and women next to me in line at the grocery store, or behind me in the theatre ever sacrificing their comfort. I more likely believe that they will do whatever they are told to do so that they can stay at home and watch the simpsons.

I agree with Tripnastic, America has learned from the last Civil war on what to do and not to do. We will always be a country United no matter whom the government is.

Unless, federally we go to Marshall law. Several states have begun proceedings on paper to secede if the constitution is overturned. If we're still dealing with the constitution, I think the states will stick together because we have power in that document. If the document goes out the window...I think the states could surprise the Fed.

I had a vision a few years back of the USA in the future - and it was divided into four parts and ruled by a council - no president. Hmmmm...

I could imagine that either natural disasters, terrorist activity and/or civil war could create that kind of situation. It might be easier for states to just group in together to protect their citizens.

Anyway, centralized government tends to collapse - no matter what civilization tries it. I think the new EU could just bomb big time after a shaky start. Already there are problems. Eventually the different countries won't want to 'go along' with everything proposed. And the UK would be foolish to give up their monetary system right now.

If the EU is affected by terrorist activity like the US will most certainly be - then there will be no end to the troubles there.

Not that I doubt you, just curious if you have any links to this?
