Hey guys,

Just came across this and found it interesting

news.ninemsn.com.au...

It basically says there are 3 distinctly different types of gut which depending on what type you have can effect things like your weight, IBS, even the way medicines are ingested and absorbed by our bodies,

(I wonder what sort that French dude who eats planes and stuff has)
(anyone ever wonder why French dudes are so crazy? how about that guy who climbs massive buildings with no safety gear, what a total whacker)
(and what about that french guy who married the manniken only to get divorced 2 yrs later coz it "wasnt what I was expecting" I mean seriously WTF!!!!!! it was a manniken dude what could you possibly been expecting?)

The original report in Nature, if you really want to know more...
Enterotypes of the human gut microbiom

Reading the abstract, it appears to be mostly a genetic driven trait, although It is still unclear whether a person can switch from one group to another over the course of a lifetime, the researchers said.

Human beings are NOT all the same, no matter how hard some try to believe it.

It wasnt so much the marriage part thats weird, its the fact he divorced her.

Jesus I just remembered kate hudson's rant against Americans and her reasons why the French hate us.

'they put ketchup on their French fries....'

I have yet to meet these mythical american hating french....... though it does serve the french hating americans as an excuse, doesn't it? Bush's bull lives on........

By the way, I don't who this guy that married a mannequin is..... but just to clear up things- in french that word means "a model". We are talking about a real live person.

It has also been suggested that it is possible we develop our types according to our habits over time. It just isn't sure yet.

Rather off topic for this thread, but I tried to find the supposed French guy who married a mannequin... and failed in my search.

I found two Americans.

LOL no its on topic its fine.

I didnt bother with looking up that info but it was on the news in Oz a few yrs back. One of those stories they show at the end to give everyone a laugh.

Hed married her and then was complaining when nowhere would recognise his divorce coz the marriage wasnt valid in the first place!! was on the news in 2003 I believe.

Edit: I couldnt find it either!!! Ok to keep the thread factual can someone else give me an example of french stupidity? I have nothing against the french but I wanna stick with the theme.

Cheers

But one thing that disappoints me is the way that some users of this site treat people whos views differ from their own.

You posted this in the medical forum and want to turn the thread into a bashing fest ?
You sir, are pathetic, and a troll.

I think remember that- he wanted to have a legal divorce because he wanted half her money!
A mannequin (in french) is a MODEL- that was her career- she modelled. If I remember right she was very successful and beautiful and had a lot of money. I think the marriage wasn't legalized because he was still legally married to someone else.

There are a LOT of americans who have married models.

-and you are being a troll.

The clip I saw it was an actual shop mannequin, not a live model.

But after going thru the motions on google and the Australian TV networks I couldnt find it so maybe it was BS.

But seriously people is this considered trolling? I personally think a few of you are being a tad overly sensitive

This isn't surprising. The human body consists of many, many forms of microbial life that all come together to make us human. We're essentially a conglomeration of loads of different creatures, so it follows that there will be some variation. I've not read the Nature article, but cheers for the link and I'll remember to check it out when I've got some time.
