Did ya know that McMillan... maker of all those lovely high dollar sniper rifles .338 and 50 BMG
also make a line of extraordinarily fine hunting rifles????

See it here
The Outdoorsman is designed for hunting where distances are large and winds blow hard. The Outdoorsman is chambered in 30-378 Weatherby and 300 Remington Ultra Mag, arguably two of the finest ultra-long range cartridge designs optimizing velocity, power and flat trajectory. The stock uses McMillan’s proprietary EDGE ultralight graphite technology to save weight without sacrificing strength. The match grade barrel is fluted to shave ounces, enhance balance and aid cooling. An integral muzzle brake is standard to tame recoil.

Q: Most accurate out of the box sniper rifle?
A: H&K PSG1, 7.62 NATO, Hans Holt Scope, Tri-pod. Straight out of the box zero'd in.

Not an opinion, but fact.

An old SMLE and a nice scope would be just fine, I reckon.

Les Baer rifles are the most accurate out of the box. The scope is mounted and zeroed, then it's shot by Les himself. They guarantee something like 5 shot MOA groups for ar and 10 shot MOA groups for bolt action.

Accuracy International AX 338 is about the sweetest shooting out of the box I have ever seen. Outfitted with Carl Zeiss Hensoldt scope and it was one of the most accurate rifles out there.

Yeah, I was wrong. It's a 10 shot 1/2 MOA group. More accurate than I thought.

We will guarantee 10-shot groups at ½ MOA or under with match grade ammunition!
