The Abu-Hafs al-Masri Brigades has issued another threat to Italy demanding it remove it's trrops from Iraq, "Otherwise, we will change our correspondence into words of blood and shake the earth everywhere in your (lands)." This following the threats over the weekend by The Tawhid Islamic Group who also threatened Australia. The Italian government has ignored threats in the past and have not commented on the latest threat.

(Cairo, Egypt-AP, July 26, 2004 8:00 AM) _ Al-Qaida-linked Islamic militants on Monday threatened to "shake the earth" everywhere in Italy if Rome does not withdraw troops from Iraq.

The Internet statement attributed to the Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades, the second such threat against the government of Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi in two weeks, was post on a Web site known from carrying materials from Islamic militants.

The group gives Berlusconi only a few days to make a decision
before "you will see things that displease you". The threats are appearing to focus on having the Italians remove Berlusconi from power as there are increasing calls from the population to bring home their soldiers from Iraq.

Now this is going off the wall now, obviously the Al-queda is making a very strong statement, that they are alive and ready to strike, another slap for bush "the world is a safer place today"

I will not be surprised if the Olympic committee will ask the US to withdraw the US team out of competition.

Italian Interior Minister Giuseppe Pisanu says Italy is taking the threats seriously, acknowledging the recent wave of threats from terrorists.
He also believes that some of the internet threats are hoaxes.

Italy to take Islamic web threats seriously

ROME, July 26 (Xinhuanet) -- Italian Interior Minister Giuseppe Pisanu said on Monday that the government was to take tight measures over a series of fresh threats to Italy by Islamic militants using the Internet to spread their messages.

"We do not underestimate any signals, we keep our guard up and our defenses high," the minister said in an interview published bythe Berlusconi-owned Il Giornale daily.

As far as asking the US to withdraw from the Olympics, these people aren't only threatening the US, they are threatening several countries, not just the US.

They have inflicted other countries by their brutalities against their citizens.

These people need to be stopped as they threaten not only the US, but all peoples in many countries, if not all.

I have no on clue how to stop it, even if you bomb the whole country and kill everyone there, that doesn't mean you got the ones responsible. That just means you killed a whole bunch of innocent people.

We shouldn't have to be concerned on weither these people are going to attack the Olympics, nor should we have to worry about the Olympic committee requesting the US, or anyone for that matter, resign from the events.

The war in Iraq is not working. The terrorist attacks continue.

It's time to change the program.
