Helllo ATS,

need a little help, as of yesterday when I try to open anything on my desktop It is brining up an ,open with' box and In order to open I have to browse and open from the program location..

Any help much appreciated

Two questions.

Have you already tried rebooting, with same result?

And do you have the same problem when trying to open applications from your start menu shortcuts themselves?

I have seen multiple problems such as these.
Generally if you replace the bcak link the errors are instantly fixed.

I had a buddy in phone support who hated his job.

Running on windows vista, tried a system restore yesterday because when I was clicking on my desktop icons nothing was happening, when I restored It was asking to specify where I wanted to open from..

Thinks for ideas

You could also try a system restore to a date when this was not happening.

Go into Control panel>Mouse and set your mouse to default, If you have changed any Accessibility settings default those too.

Accessibility is usually set up for the disabled.

No porn but did manage to get it sorted, system restored back a few days and now the programs are opening as normal.. Pretty strange but thanks for all the help folks :]

System Restore Rocks. It has saved me a number of times. Not like win 98 where I reformatted it a dozen times.
