Federal grand jury indicts four in explosives theft
OAKLAND, Calif. - A federal grand jury has issued a 21-count indictment against four men in connection with the theft of 200 pounds of explosives and bomb-making hardware from a San Mateo County storage locker used by police and sheriffs, authorities said Friday.

Two of those charged, Michael Allan, 46, and Timothy Dean Byrd, 36, already had been named by authorities and have previously appeared in federal court.

The indictment announced Friday also names two new defendants - Gregory Sherinan, 40, and Dean Utile, 41.

Sherinan was arrested in Hayward early Friday morning, said Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms spokeswoman Marti McKee. He is set to appear in federal court Monday.
