Facebook Down? 03/31/2011

This is the third day in a row that this has happened to me. I was able to log onto facebook at one moment, then twenty minutes or so later I am unable to. I have gone to www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com and it states that it is down for just me.

But what is odd, my wife was just on just ten minutes before I got home, now we can't access it. We can get the log in page or look at other pages, but we are unable to log in. Just wondering if there are any others out there that are having this problem. We keep getting the error time out message when it happens.

We have also had the problem of at times we are unable to load google, or even ATS when this happens. However we can load Charter.net, charter.com, netflix.com, and xbox.com sites we also regularly visit. Prisonplanet.com, yahoo.com, msnbc, fox, and cnn will also load.

If I put this in the wrong place please move it. Thank you.

My wife is able to log on via her IPOD, which is using the same router that my laptop is using. I know that it is actually facebook mobile, but not sure if that would make a difference on why we couldn't log in.

It's definitely not down completely. I have a business and a personal account on FB. I haven't been able to log in my business account today but my personal account is fine. They are probably doing staggered maintenance on the site

Thank you very much, that generally means a server problem of some sort. Highly irritating this can be.

Oh darn, I got excited that Facebook was gone forever but alas my hopes are dashed.

mine too...i wish i could find a way to permantely erase facebook from existance...thats the only thing on the internet my girlfriend ever goes to...she never visits sites where you can actually learn things like this one...so if it were gone i could convince her to spend time on real subjects that matter instead of caring what someones status is...s for having the feelings i do

I do agree for the most part Facebook is rather boring. It is, however much we may hate it, an easier way to keep in contact with some family and friends that don't live anywhere near you. I also like to keep my family and friends updated on things that I find here that will be useful to their lives.

I think it might be just you. Usually when you have to much spyware or viruses it keep you from being able to access some pages. Do you look at a lot of porn? if so thats probably the cause, i would get a good antivirus program and a pc tuneup program. that usually does the trick of making it run smooth.

I agree with your statements. I also suggest maybe finding a new girlfriend, if you are interested in this site and the like, and she is really into FB, then how long do you expect that clash of personalities to last? I know opposites attract.... but the brainwashed pop culture fanatics are on a highway to Hell it seems.

Both me and my wife take offense at the suggestion of looking at porn sites. No I don't look at porn and neither does my wife. That is the absolute dumbest suggestion I have heard. Yes I have installed AVG Internet Security 2011 full edition months ago, I update it once a day. I run it once a day. this computer that I am on is my College Computer. My Wife and I both use it for our college work. I go to five sites regularly. This site, prisonplanet, my college's website, my email and facebook. From here I follow links from the news articles that interest me. So if I am getting spyware it is from one of those sites. Which I doubt seriously. I keep my own firewall up at all times, and have a secondary firewall on my modem. I have checked their settings. I use to be a network administrator for the U.S. navy. I do have a clue about most computer problems.

Actually the sugestion wasn't retarted. It was a reasonable question based on the quesion you asked. Sorry to offend you and your wife, that was not my intent. I naturally assumed you might look at porn just like the most of the men that are members of this site ( you know who you are, it's nothing to be ashamed of). I simply just thaught you computer might have a bug or two and offered that as a reasoning to your problem.
Amazingly some people do think that they can go to porn sites and not get bugs. I wasn't aware of your level of knowledge on internet security and firewalls. I guess there might be a genuine problem with Facebook.

I apologize for getting so snappy. Just both me and my wife were having the problem at the same time. Then today I saw an article that stated that they may just be doing some of these things to test if people will still come back.

Facebook are pieces of shyt that have done nothing but work to torture and control people.
