First off I want to say that I want to start a mission to rescue this lil cutie no matter what he is, I don't care if it will eat my soul. It's FREAKIN adorable!

Anywho did they do any DNA testing yet (
poor lil thing)?

Could this possibly not be a "sheep-dog" but simply a sheep with a birth defect?
Maybe his cranium was compressed which gives him the odd features similar to a dog?
Or possibly deeper into neural tube defects or possibly genetics?

Any dog experts? Is this a new breed and were getting our tail yanked?

This is a shame that this animal has to now suffer for whatever the purpose of this all is.

It is the first True sheep Dog.
will it round it's self up?

do you belie every thing they tell you? no.
just because they say different animals can not have babies.
does not mean its true.
most of the time it will fail but!
if every one knew it could be done.
they would try. and fail most of the time.
have you seen the Liger. tiger+lion.
do you know how you get a mule?
sheep, pigs, chickens and cows are from cross breeding.
thousands of years ago they did not have them!
evolution some times plays silly games.
but most of the time you get a mess.

what do they do with all the babies the sheep in Australia give birth to?

A very matted puppy and judging by his or her eyes, sickly. Def. has a canine nose, which is does not exist in ruminants(ex., sheep). It's looks most like a toy breed mix or small breed puppy.

Hair wise; Poodles, Lasha Apso, Shih Tzu and Malteese for example, have hair-close to that of human hair that grows all of their life-whereas other breeds have fur-sometimes doubled coated-Husky, Spitz, which shed.

Possible small breeds or mixes;
Chinese Crested-non hairless type-(they are not from China though) mix possibly. www.dogbreedinfo.com...Or...
A Pom a Poo www.dogbreedinfo.com...
Chinese Crestepoo www.dogbreedinfo.com...

The rounded upright ears look like my Peke-Pom dogs ears, so possible Pekingese mix.
