I live in the good ‘ol U.S. of A. and there is one song that always reminds me of my country and what it means to me, what the values and principles of this country are, and who we really are in our heart. I know there are people on ATS from all walks of life and from almost every country of this planet we call Earth, so come on folks post your song or give us the title/lyrics which in your opinion represents everything about your country in your eyes.

Here is my song that I believe sums up America:

I think it is a tie with this song.

Feel free to post more than one song as I am sure there are several that you feel represents your country but be sure to make it clear which one you feel sums it all up the best.

Edit to add lyrics:

We paid our weekly shilling for that January trip:
A long weekend in London, aye, without a bit of kip.
There's a seat reserved for beer by the boys from Abercarn:
There's beer, pontoon, crisps and fags and a croakin 'Calon Lan'.

And we were singing hymns and arias,
'Land of my Fathers', 'Ar hyd y nos'.

Into Paddington we did roll with an empty crate of ale.
Will had lost at cards and now his Western Mail's for sale.
But Will is very happy though his money all has gone:
He swapped five photos of his wife for one of Barry John.

And we were....................

We got to Twickers early and were jostled in the crowd;
Planted leeks and dragons, looked for toilets all around.
So many there we couldn't budge -twisted legs and pale:
I'm ashamed we used a bottle that once held bitter ale.

And we were singing hymns and arias,
'Land of my Fathers', 'Ar hyd y nos'.

Wales defeated England in a fast and open game.
We sang 'Cwm Rhondda' and 'Delilah',
damn, they sounded both the same.
We sympathised with an Englishman
whose team was doomed to fail
So we gave him that old bottle, that once held bitter ale!

He started singing hymns and arias,
'Land of my Fathers', 'Ar hyd y nos'.

So it's down to Soho for the night,
to the girls with the shiny beads;
To the funny men with lipstick on,
with evil minds and deeds.
One said to Will from a doorway dark,
damn, she didn't have much on.
But Will knew what she wanted,
aye...his photo of Barry John!

'Cos she was singing hymns and arias,
'Land of my Fathers', 'Ar hyd y nos'.

I am sorry that this is another Van Zant song but this song hits right at home, my family is all from Bethlehem and all [were] factory workers so this song is special.

This one is always an amazing song that is truly American.

U.S.

Pantera "Mouth For War"
Should be our battle hymn. Extremely positive and strong.

Revenge
I'm screaming revenge again
Wrong
I've been wrong for far too long
Been constantly so frustrated
I've moved mountains with less
When I channel my hate to productive
I don't find it hard to impress

(Pre)
Bones in traction
Hands break to hone raw energy
Bold and disastrous
My ears can't hear what you say to me

(Chorus)
Hold your mouth for the war
Use it for what it's for
Speak the truth about me
Determined

Possessed
I feel a conquering will down inside me
Strength
The strength of many to crush
Who might stop me
My strength is in number
And my soul lies in every one
The releasing of anger can better any medicine under the sun

(Pre)

(Chorus)

There comes a time within everyone
Don't close your eyes to what's real
No comprehension to fail
I vacuum the wind for my sail
Can't be the rest
Let others waste my time
Owning success is the bottom line.
Like a knife into flesh
After life is to death
Pulling and pushing the rest of duration
NO ONE can piss on this determination

I think that this video best represents the United States of America. We are losing the middle class, and without a middle class we are going to doomed. The lower class will revolt and destroy the upper class and then there will be no country left.

Capitalism is like a giant game of musical chairs. At first it is awesome, you laugh at the other poor fools who do not have a seat and say "Oh well, sucks to be you! You should have been faster and you would still have a seat!". After a while you start to get more and more thankful that at least you still have a chair left and you realize that no matter how skilled you are at playing the game you could still lose your chair at any second. Pretty soon you are wondering WTF happened to my chair as you are standing on the sidelines with everyone else.

The band is Carcass.
The song is "Blood Splattered Banner".
That song pretty much sums it up nicely.

I know not everyone in the England loves football, but this song when it first came out in 1996 united the country and as close to patriotic pop as you can get. BTW this is an updated version I couldn't get a universal vid of the original

This is s a good one for us brits too.
