Watchfully eyes on surprises?

Well this is the first time canada is going to send the sub hunters in other words the CP-140 Aurora aircraft is the surveillance aircraft which can monitor all naval activity including surprises by china or russia, notice how in the article it states it is been used for the first time since the cold war days.

OTTAWA - Canada is sending a pair of CP-140 Aurora aircraft -- sub-hunters during the Cold War -- to the Mediterranean Sea to help NATO enforce the UN-backed arms embargo against Libya.

"More precisely, these Aurora aircraft will provide intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance support to NATO forces in the central Mediterranean region, bolstering NATO's awareness of all maritime activity."

Looks like NATO are expecting some surprises other wise if they weren't expecting surprises they wouldnt be using this type of an aircraft for Naval Sub surveillance.

Well...I really hope we are engaged there for all the right reasons...why we are not addressing Bahrain, Yemen, etc as well is a pretty good question.

But I can't help but think that we have an election pending, and nothing distracts the masses like a good old-fashioned gunfight. Especially one we can't lose. How soon will Steve question the integrity of the opposition for 'prompting an election while we are at war'.

I'll betcha a Timbit on that one.

Why arent we there in Bahrain or Yemen? there is isn't oil thats why we aren't but i bet you if Bahrain, Yemen had oil, you would see a very quick response from NATO or any other future american puppet president.

I wish we are in Libya for the right reasons but sadly thats not the case, speaking of which why aren't NATO helping the innocents in darfur? they clearly having the worst genocide in history so why no quick action from NATO, UN?

In fact there is no international response on the darfur issues, while the international community fingers points and blames it on China and Russia for the weapons sales, yet these weapons were sold from the black markets weapon sales.

Again you maybe asking why no response to darfur,Yemen, Bahrain simple amercia and the international community has no interest in them at the moment.

Notice how the western news media has less press coverage for Yemen, Bahrain? yet they huge coverage for Libya.

All wars are fought for the elites profits, sadly if the rebels win they wont gain anything rather then be a puppet country like iraq is now.

Canada has a naval escort ship, a half squadron of F18s and now these Aurora aircraft over there.
Actually they are long hang time surveilance aircraft with excellent anti submarine capabilities.
Our little prince of a prime minister likes playing with his toys in the bathtub.
Harpers gotta go this time........

US Arleigh Burke destroyers are in no danger from some old Soviet Foxtrot-class diesel-electric subs the Libyans have floating around.

The sub hunters are there because now Canada can say they've deployed 8 aircraft instead of 6. 99% of Canadians aren't going to read past the word "plane" to see that they're ASW platforms.

The Conservative Party should be financing this deployment as a campaign expenditure.
