I think that something should happen in 2012 as a blow to corruption, exploitation and other
bad things.Man should realize that he is not superior than nature.

What do you think?

I am looking forward for your replies.

I agree with you, I just don't think it was worth starting a new thread to ask the question.

Perhaps add more of a description of your point of view and how you think we should change?

I think you should put more effort into your threads.. It is highly unlikely this will receive any attention, except for negative comments like the ones already posted here..
Btw welcome to ats, you will soon learn how it is on here..

I think nature is superior to man because man can't predict or forecast nature's events like natural calamities.

Sorry, I was being provocative.

But I do believe Man is succeeding nature. Becoming independent of the "parents" so to speak. Even now we have developed artificial means to prolong our lifespan, enhanced our productive and well-being and so and so.

We have also developed ways of alerting each other about possible calamities, and eventually I believe we will be able to stop them. Though I feel that stopping them would actually be counter-productive in some manner, sort of like cutting the circulation.

Then again, this succession is perhaps a natural process and thus a part of nature? Where do you draw the line?

You seen Japan lately?

Uhh...

Man is but a whimpering nuisance in the grand scheme of mother nature.

Wow yes we are superior to nature - whatever!

We aren't more powerful than nature, but we can potentially live in equilibrium with nature. Not to mention we could increase the standard of living of all people well above what the Western world enjoys now.

Not building Nuclear Power Plants next to known fault lines would be a good start.
