Is F-121 a genuine aircraft or still a rumor?

something similar to the f-121 but with In
ward chanted tails?

Short answer, Yes. There is no picture. Everything from what I've red and discussed with people points to a air frame like that. Real trick is to find the patch?

Wouldn't an airframe like that be substantially bigger than the size of a Tornado, like was reported?

If it was a delta like shape, it would explain why they covered up the middle section.

NRO spy plane patch.... I have to dig up my old Trevor Paglen book I quess

The "nose" on that patch looks like a image of the F-121 Image as seen from above and the "eyes" look like a rear view. We all know that the patches hide images in them.

I don't think Northrop's Night Stalker II was it either. I believe that patch is for a project that they did for the 160th SOAR "Night Stalkers".

It resembles a Testor's "Thunder Dart" without the tails and engines integrated into the airframe.

Night Stalker and Night Stalker II were both projects that Northrop did under contract to the U.S. Army. It involved night vision equipment for attack helicopters. I don't know the specifics.

good point. the patch even resembles an apache face. wonder if 160 SOAR have attack helos too, like escorts for the little birds and Blackhawks.

Ahhh, thanks for that bit of info. Do you know if it is connected to the 160th?

I have no reason to believe that the Northrop Night Stalker system was specific to one particular unit. It is a night vision system for helicopter pilots and probably has a variety of applications.

I heard many rumours about this incident but obviously nothing is a credible info.
Some time ago I found a very good Shadowhawk's post here on this forum in "Hypersonic puzzle" thread.
Here is a quote:

One source who used to work at Area 51 has made some cryptic remarks about a one-of-a-kind high-speed demonstrator that used multiple forms of propulsion. Apparently it was fairly successful but later crashed.

You know guys what I mean...

multiple forms of propulsion?

maybe regular turbofans and some supersonic engines?

bigger than a fighter? bomber size maybe?

swappable pods for multiple missions. elint, sigint, opint or bomber pods on rotary launchers?

something really really black world.

or maybe not what i'm thinking.

Surely more in a fighter size for what we can read about it they store the craft in a C-5 not for a bomber size. For the propulsion big mystery for what it was.
