Topic started on 20-7-2004 @ 09:00 PM by Resist

Is it just me or does anyone else find it very weird that a non-government company has the right to collect personal information about you and sell it to others for profit? I'm talking about all the credit report agencys that make you pay to see your own personal information and share your information and aslo use it against you....and you have no say..but if I do the same to you then I am a criminal...ladies and gents this act is called blackmail...and is another form of Big Brother....

Go to the FTC website to determine your rights. You have several under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act and subsequent amendments.

Realize that if credit grantors did not have the ability to assess their risk, we would all be paying MUCH HIGHER interest rates and many would not get credit who enjoy that option today.

On the issue of private ownership, would you prefer that be managed by the government? I think not.
