Per Kyodo, the northeastern winds have carried the radiation from Fukushima all the way to Tokyo. The only prudent thing that the authorities can do right now is to shut down all public equity markets immediately to prevent widespread panic resulting in a repeat of the liquidity collapse of 2008.
markets are reacting, futures down everywhere.

www.zerohedge.com...

They need to shut down the markets like they did in 9-11 or i fear colapse. all events are coming to a point and this is the straw that broke the camels back

Im usually pretty optimistic about things but I feel I may go get a weeks supply of water.
I don't have good feelings about any of this.

Yes, if you haven't already collected supplies to last a week or two, please go out now or tomorrow and start collecting whatever you can afford.

This situation is going to get worse before it gets better. And what happens in Tokyo effects the entire world, we are a global economy now after-all.

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

Please stay informed and stay calm, and take action now to ensure that your future remains safe and stable.

Do NOT panic buy, be very conservative and only get what you need.
Here is a fallout prep guide
Here is a thread discussing it.

We should all be creating water and food stockpiles, in fact we should have been doing that months ago and rotating supplies to keep our backups fresh.

ATS is jam packed with survival guides and related information.

There is nothing wrong with preparing for a disaster, because disasters always happen, it's just a matter of when and where.

Having relief supplies is prudent in all situations, no matter where you are. There is a plethora of different potential scenarios possible, and those backups are life saving in the event anything does happen.

We all need to prepare right now just in case, and keep up with our disaster plans into the foreseeable future. Something could happen in our own very neighborhood tomorrow. Best we get on the ball and be ready for it.

I always thought of buying a storage locker and putting tons of non perishable food, medical supplies etc. in there. I guess should have thought sooner.

No problem. I think they need to shut it down. I'm still shocked they opened yesterday. Had they kept the market closed, I'm sure the world would understand. Dedicated Japanese, right back to work on Monday!
