I'd like to know what you guys think of cryogenics...
Please correct me if i'm wrong, but can you actually be frozen for a certain number of years and successfully recover?

This is what i thought at first, and then i hear of people dying and then being cryogenically frozen...if you were to recover years later, what does it do to a dead person?

Thanks for the input.

Well, freezing somone and preserving for years is the easy part.
It's the cellular and molecular damage caused by crystalized bodily
fluids. If you see ice under a microscope its very jagged. We need
to come up with a way to 'flash' freeze the whole body in one giant
human sized ice crystal. I hear they can do this already with some
microorganisms and succefully revived them. But we are a long way
from doing this to humans. Anyone who is willing to freeze themselves
now in order to be revived at a much later date(ie when they find a
cure for whatever ails them) is taking a giant leap of faith on our
current crygenics technology which is crude and primitive still.

When you are dead, you are dead. Even if they freeze you right away, cellular damage is done. Assuming the keep you frozen long enough for DR, McCoy to fix you you should be Okay. Just pray we don't have any power outages untill then. I esp like the budget minded that have thier heads cut off and Frozen. What do they expect someone to do with that in the future?????
