Words worth hearing, understanding and discussing.

Commenting on the situation in Egypt, Dr. West paraphrases Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. :

Anytime everyday people straighten their backs they're going somewhere, because folks can't ride your back unless it's bent.

In my humble opinion, the distribution of wealth and a form of "class warfare" is behind every uprising we are witnessing. Yet, we are getting close to a "breaking point" as well. You know something is wrong when bankers and traders who produce no "real" goods, are making hundreds of millions of dollars, and people like teachers, who we trust with our children (our most precious future resource) are barely getting by.

He continues to speak words many of us here on ATS discuss on a daily basis:

How do we straighten our backs up in the face of these oligarchs and plutocrats who are trying to snatch the best of our democracy away?

Enjoy and discuss.

I really love Bill Maher's reaction to it when he says it. Despite the fact that he agrees with it he knows he will become a target now because it was said in such a way. Interesting to see these conversations unfolding.
