Welcome starfighter, glad ya could make it to the party. Got any pics of them thar critters?
I don't know how unusual it is, like you said the weather has an affect on each year's population.....
Here in Oregon one year, we had an outbreak of praying mantis', everywhere by the thoudands! it was hella cool, unless bugs bug you out!

But the reports said it was nothing new, just somewhat rare.

peace,
spec

I remember a time at school when I was little. I had that weird headache/sinus ache that some people get when there is a storm coming.

We went out to the playground at lunchtime and we saw thousands of daddy long legs flying almost as if in formation.

It was quite surreal

Weird you mentioned it, but I havent seen a insect, in god only knows why.

Even in summers I didn't see one fly or mosquitos?
And normally I hate summer just because of these annoying little fellas

Seriously, you should like bugs. If it weren't for them, the earth would be a nasty/smelly place.

Regardless, welcome!

You will probably learn the hard way and wind up dealing with one before it's all over, Ignoring them has been the best thing to do for me.

Mythical beast that usually hides under a bridge, waiting to eat children.

Naw, just kidding. Or am I....

Seriously, a troll is someone that has no respect for the content of a thread. Their only focus is to cause havoc and derail a thread. A troll attacks with no merit, and will usually follow up with some name calling.

Best advice, just ignore them

there are no fire ants in my yard here in Florida.

Now that's just crazy talk!
Check the neighbors yard or something, them things are tenacious! If the fire ants start disappearing, well that would be a moment of triumph and tragedy. Triumph in that those things have taken over and cause havoc, tragedy if they, being as super-hardy as they are, start disappearing, something is up then, imo!
I used to live down South and I knows bout' them dang fire ants!
