I just find the whole thing odd. A country renown for cracking down on its citizens suddenly allows( for the most part) its people to protest freely in the streets. I really expected the government to crack down hard on the protesters in the first few days. As this goes on, I expect Murbarak to leave but feel one of his cronies will take his place.

They are NOT happy at all! Its going to get worse. People put in a survival situation will do whatever they have to in order to survive.

Did any of you watch his speech this afternoon?
I may have misunderstood what he said, but from what I caught it sounded like he still planned on his son taking over in the fall. He stated something about "upholding the current constitution and legitimacy". To me that sounds like "Ok, ok... I'll step down but the rules will not change, and I will continue to have a say in what happens to all of you"
Did I misinterpret???
