Ohio ex-NASA worker charged over military exports

news.yahoo.com

CLEVELAND – The Department of Justice says a former NASA employee in Ohio has been charged with illegally shipping infrared military technology to South Korea.

Sixty-six-year-old Kue Sang Chun of Avon Lake was charged Monday with one count of exporting defense articles on the U.S. munitions list without getting an export license or written authorization from the federal government.

I didn't see this in the top headlines in the media. This is really interesting, seems like it should be news. What do you think of the Nasa spy and is this purposly buried deep in the news to keep it at a lower exposure rate?
"Authorities say Chun exported infrared focal-plane array detectors and infrared camera engines."
What does that mean?

The government has export-bans in place on a number of higher-tech items, apparently this guy bought these night-vision pieces (not sure if they were items that could only be sold to gov agencies) then shipped them to his compatriots in Asia.

Not quite a "Walker" level of espionage, but still a stab in the back. Now THIS is a good example of espionage, not the dog-and-pony show we're getting with Assange.
