Those of us who belong to other social media forums/platforms understand how well structured, functional, and smooth AboveTopSecret.com is, by comparison.

WHAT CAN WE DO DO TO BRING THIS GREAT FORUM BACK TO LIFE?

Watching the number of posts diminish day after day, while the Moderators try to maintain proper decorum as the ship sinks, is mentally tough.

As far as I can make out unfortunately there is little anyone can do unless the owners/Darko etc reveal themselves.
It is indeed gut wrenching.
Most of us here have been around for quite some time now and whether we publicly acknowledge it or not have a deep affection for the place and a sense of togetherness and community with each other....even the one's we don't often agree with.

I appreciate that Deny Ignorance has been set up as an alternative and it is great.....but it isn't ATS.

I certainly appreciate the efforts the Mods & Admin continue to make to keep the show on the road and I for one will be around as long it is still here.

All we can do at present is continue to contribute and try to adhere to T&C's as much as possible.

Nothing. The owner, if he was ever actually here, has walked away. No one left has Administration rights, so as things degrade or break, they aren't fixable. We're on death watch. Sooner or later, we'll reach a point where no one can log in, or the site won't even be reachable.

Make the best of it while you can because it's not going to last forever. Hell, maybe not until tomorrow. We have no idea.

Thank-you for replying. I hadn't heard of Deny Ignorance as a platform, until you mentioned it. I'll see what I can find. Hopefully it's a real forum, and not one of those "social media" platforms.

Like you, I'll stay here as long as feasible, unless I get booted. There are still some really good subjects and information being posted.

Hopefully AboveTopSecret.com still gets a lot of visitors. I post primarily for the masses to see new information. Not for chit-chatting.

That is way too bad. Almost unbelievable that the owner(s) would abandon such a valuable, influential asset. If you start a thread on ATS, it shows up in the Google search engine long before Twitter posts do.

If there is no registered owner, can't we claim it? But, if there's no way to keep ATS up and running, it would be more of a pain than an asset.

Since America would self-destruct if Donald Trump is removed from the picture, any discussion of long-term ATS existence should probably wait for 6 months. There may be nothing to discuss by that time.

Yes it is very sad. I remember when the “recent” page would cycle through in a matter of minutes. Granted this was 20 years ago but it’s a far cry from what we’ve seen in the last few years, now it’s almost a ghost town. It really sucks.

I do wish deny ignorance was a little more mobile phone friendly. It seems to have a few layout bugs that need to be fixed. The font is very difficult to read without constantly using pinch to expand.

I think it was Darko that put nail in the coffin, I thought he changed or lowered some permission or ability that moderators had that gave them more powers with the software that runs the site. I could be wrong, but I also think there is probably a way to edit those values back but it would cross a legal line not worth crossing.
