While scientists and specialists are investigating why massive numbers of birds have dropped dead from the sky elsewhere in the country, Sonoma County now has its own bird deaths mystery to solve, reported the CHP.

More than 100 birds were found dead Saturday afternoon clustered on the ground off of Highway 101, south of Geyserville, Officer Jon Sloat reported Monday.

Just, minutes ago, posted another one about mass deaths in Turkey.

This is some weird [snip], and it just keeps getting weirder. Had to post these to see if I am the only one who thinks things are getting stranger and these are anything but a normal occurrence.

Any thoughts?

Yikes I work in that area...Napa and Sonoma county.

I work outside on phone poles.

This is a little too close to home now, sheesh.

I hope they get this thing nailed down soon, because there aren't a lot of people out here that
set off bird killing fireworks...

I think the name of the town says it all.
"Geyserville". That name had to come from some events.. so I would assume that it's more out-gassing.

Since that 9+mag quake in 2004, compression on the North American plates have been more active. This pressure is causing the cracks in Michigan, and now some of these bird deaths. I'd be watching the New Madrid VERY carefully if I were USGS....

All these 7+ and 8+ mags... started on the west side of the Pacific plate, and moved east. Then we have the Haiti quake, and some smaller quakes in the Mid-west. Indiana...

The BP release of all that oil contained a lot of methane as well.. I'm sure that didn't help any...
The earth does its thing, and its letting off pressure.. It is fascinating to study.

Not sure if this is relevant, this is a map of earthquakes at a place called The Geysers in California, may not even be close to where you are talking about, if it isn't I apologize.

The term Geyserville is due to the fact that geysers can often be seen in the nearby foothills 10-15 miles away. There is nothing but large fields of grass along that particular stretch of highway. You can rule out lightning and severe weather as well.
