I am going to tell you that there's a way of changing things, of playing the information game better than big media ever has, using a mix of intelligent, targeted automation and human expression.

Everyone is selling greed and fear, which we sit around and observe, discuss, criticize. We think of better ways of living and interacting with other humans and the universe.

But what if time runs out for your ability to do that. What if your ability to do that is taken away. That's what ATS is all about, this is the fear driving this place. What happens if they take away your freedom of thought and behavior itself.

In order for that to happen, they'd have to take away the Internet. Right now, as misguided and commercial and dirty as it is in many ways, the Internet is the greatest source of freedom that any generation has ever had. Never before have so many people been able to interact and educate themselves and each other with the speed and ease possible now.

That much is obvious.

What is less obvious is that in this great mashup of information and identities, ways of getting information across have been born which are also more powerful than anything seen before.

Countless people are making money selling mostly silly products. They are using Facebook and Twitter and other social networks and opinion aggregators and blogs and news sites, and the tools that drive them – software bots and programs for generating links and comments by the thousands and tens of thousands. RSS feeds automatically building content on blogs and niche sites and feeding Twitter accounts which then sell you information products and memberships.

Right now people dumber than you, weaker than you, less virtuous than you, less motivated and with less merit, are slowly working their way up the internet money ladder selling bull#. And they're using tools that make it easy to direct eyeballs and messages and reach thousands and hundreds of thousands and millions.

These tools are out there. If they can use them, you can use them as well. And you probably wouldn't buy whores and cars with that money. Maybe you'd invest in a Permaculture ecosystem. Maybe you'd do micro-loaning, and help countless third world people. Maybe you'd invent and build something, or just help your friends. Doesn't matter.

What matter is that you're not putting the same effort and the same energy into these supercharged Internet tools and channels. You could do it and show people the reasons for both fear and beauty. Show them what our government is doing in regards to supplements and GMOs and all the various abuses. Or you could show the countless reasons for love and beauty.

Some of you have solutions. For cancer. For alternative energy. For spiritual development. Some of you know of injustices being caused, big or small. Some of you have tax advice, law advice, some of you simply have inspiring or crazy or scary things to say.

ATS is an amazing place to read, even when it borders on the amusingly ridiculous, though many times it is simply amazing. But these things - post by post of worthy and beautiful human interaction - are wasted away for the general population. This is just a small corner, an incredibly small corner when compared to the entire sum of the internet, but it is large enough in itself to contain a powerful and intelligent diversity of human beings, which generate questions and answers and solutions and put together information towards greater visions.

Take those visions, the answers and the questions, and learn to use the tools of the internet to spread them. It would be so easy. Tools that allow you to reach thousands of people with a message. When is the last time you considered yourself capable of doing that. NO, a post on ATS doesn't count, because ATS members are already knowledgeable. I'm talking about reaching thousands of regular men and women.

Remember, people less intelligent than you, with less merit – are doing it. Selling poker instructionals and lawn chairs and dating schemes and internet television. And a million other things. Selling marketing books and self help books and leadership advice, things which may or may not help people.

They are re-hashing products for the millionth time, changing pages around and giving them new titles and selling them over and over again.

Spamming with no strategy and no intelligence, and yet succeeding because they're the only ones doing it.

Take your own vision and your own answers and questions, and take the tools these people are using, the Twitter programs and the Facebook bots, and take the greatest tool of ATS – collaboration, and reach out to the world.

You can change things, simply because the internet is built in such a way that reaching EVERYONE happens all the time. It does. IT CANNOT NOT HAPPEN. The only thing that changes is WHAT reaches everyone.

When you put together the amount of INFORMATION and ACTION that the internet is made out of, an incredible amount of permanent interconnectedness happens, and out of that amount of information come greater and greater degrees of complexity.

Those degrees of complexity are tools – literally, tools – which can be used to control the flow of things which are bound to reach EVERYONE.

I know it's hard. There's a learning curve. The only purpose of my post is to get the idea in your heads, to make some of you understand that it's not just necessary, but also possible. That it can be done, that it's really a toss-up, between truth and beauty, and poker instructionals.

The internet, with time, has created the tools needed for the spreading of real human information. And I do mean spreading.

Putting the plans for beating cancer somewhere on the internet is good. Spreading it and building a community of able minded people who have mastered the tools of spreading information – now that's the stuff WINNING is made of.

Stop for a second. It gave me chills the first time I imagined it. Actually winning. Ever thought it was possible? Not through bloodshed or peaceful inaction. But through right action, actually winning. Picture that for a second.

..
If you want to get links to free resources for learning this, send me a message, or I can post them here later if it's ok by forum rules.

Thank you for the flags.

Let me state this again.

Because it is important. And because I've never really heard it anywhere before it slowly came to me. We could actually win. Not through a miraculous set of circumstances, not through resistance through incredible hardships, not through one final act of service from our military, but through power of expression.

Eight years ago when I first started reading conspiracy theories, my first thought was "no, won't happen, not with the internet. not with so many good people being connected and prosperous".

And maybe that was the right thought after all. This generation is less tough and less hard-working than many others. Less values. Capitalism has weakened us, but it also made us believe firmly that freedom and prosperity should be everywhere. A sort of positive brainwashing.

But enough of that. Picture this. If you started learning now, in a week, or a month, depending on you, you'd be able to reach thousands of people and change their lives and minds and outlook in big or small ways.

I'll be around.

In a nutshell, are you saying that social media and social bookmarking websites are the key for the mass proliferation of a message?

Countless such groups/individuals exist on Twitter, Facebook et al.

Then again, Alex Jones fans actively affect Google "hot" keyword searches.

Example: www.infowars.com...

In a nutshell Social Media platforms are the surface of the equation. Like a forum, they're just the interface.

But there are actual software tools that could let you, for example, create a thousand twitter accounts, using proxy lists, follow and unfollow people based on keywords, then filter RSS feeds based on other keywords and feed various feeds to each account, and so on.

You can fully automate it to a very high and intelligent degree.

The purpose isn't how much spam you can get away with, but how much power you can put behind a good message.

This is one very important front in the challenges this world faces. With so many stories and ideas floating around it can be hard to make heads from tails with it all. The social networking systems have shown just how fast and powerful messages can flow through the system when it has the community interest at heart. Making sure the messages are credible and succinct is important for their uptake throughout the community. The more people are able to associate and have a need to respond, the more effective it is. Democracy at work.

The best place to start looking into it is with popular communications that have have had sudden rises or attract a large gravity, what are the common elements? One example includes how a pop star is at some shopping centre. People get on their phones and in a matter of minutes thousands of people start flooding in to try and get a glimpse. Obama used twitter and other social networks to help build his campaign during the election. Lot cheaper that tv adverts and the two way communication built a strong community spirit. Hope this helps with getting started, lots to it.

Your ideas are extremely inspiring.

The need for positive change and the potential for achieving it as you’ve outlined is way too important to be forgotten.

May I suggest reposting your thoughts in another ATS forum (e.g. education and media).

Humanity is becoming more and more disenfranchised each day by global autocratic governments. I can only hope that the Internet and its evolving set of tools will once and for all empower the people, and place them on a benevolent path.

I’d like to imagine a cooperative faction of inspired individuals throughout the world, taking existing blueprints for free-energy devices, pursuing an open-source paradigm (e.g. Linux), employing virtual think-tanks (e.g. ATS forums), crafting viral promotional schemes (e.g. Twitter), establishing rapid-prototyping operations that overtly distribute results (e.g. YouTube) on a steady-state basis until functional free-energy devices become available to the general public, at a nominal cost.

Remember, these are about making money. They teach setting up sites, automating search engine optimization, working the social media sites, email marketing, everything everything everything. They teach methods and automatization and tricks and shortcuts and all sorts of more or less dirty ways.

You have to look at them as tools. Look at the thinking behind it. A whole new world of possibilities will open up, and each and every one of you will find that they have skills and knowledge they want to use and share, and once you learn "internet marketing", you find that there are ways of doing it which take very little time out of your day. Learn about it and then visualize all the things you could do with that knowledge. Including making money. It's not a bad thing, if you then use that money for good things.

I don't have 20 posts yet so I couldn't contact any of those who messaged me.

Tell me where it would be better to re-post this thread.

If anyone wants to talk about this, message me with your email address and I'll get in touch.

www.atomictweets.com...

look at the video on the page. it's crazy how powerful that program is. of course, I hate the part about "employees in india are solving chaptchas". though when you think about it, you could use the program to make money, spread good knowledge, and use that money to give out micro-loans to people in india to start businesses.

PS. if there's anyone who doesn't know about micro-loans, check it out. it's a big part of the future of growing the world.

Here's a bump for you, and a Flag.
It could work, and I for one would love to be proactive, rather than reactive.

We have to take idea's and DO something with them. Knowledge is more valuable when it's shared and implemented. We have such an amazing diverse intelligent community here, capable of so much.
So much more.

I want to hear more. Welcome to ATS, something tells me you are going to stand out here.

Stand out or not, we'll see if that's needed.

What's needed is to gather up as a core of interested people willing to put some elbow grease to work and push issues when needed.

For example, right now, people are discussing Ventura's decision to sue the TSA, some saying he should team up and help many others to co-sue.

Good idea. What would it take to get to him and get him to do it or consider it?

Don't know right now.

Is it possible?

Yes.

Could ATS do it?

If focused and trained, maybe.
