TV is a psychologically powerful medium, where the viewer passively takes in the stream of ideas and concepts flowing to the subject adiovisually. For so long it has been the medium to feed propaganda to the masses in a controlled manner.
It is psychologically powerful, thus the tendency for people to turn something not so big into something really big in their minds. Also, television reporting and documentary are particularly void of information content, as compared to print media. Audio/visual communication is also the most biased form of media. Reports are hand picked to suit the will and bent of the broadcaster, and time constraints generally don't generally allow producers to explore multiple angles of an issue, not that they'd want to anyway, because they themselves are biased, otherwise they wouldn't be producing it.
Television is for agendas.
