Source/Article

"The western world's leading climatologists have confirmed reports of a detrimental global climatic change [cooling]. The stability of most nations is based upon a dependable source of food, but this stability will not be possible under the new climatic era. A forecast by the University of Wisconsin projects that the Earth's climate is returning to that of the neo·boreal era (1600-1850) - an era of drought, famine, and political unrest in the western world." (1974)

Quite an interesting article and something that near everybody has probably heard/reviewed previously, but my search in ATS topics retrieved nothing.

Great article. I have been following this subject for a while after reading these

From 2005: Alarm over dramatic weakening of Gulf Stream.
The powerful ocean current that bathes Britain and northern Europe in warm waters from the tropics has weakened dramatically in recent years, a consequence of global warming that could trigger more severe winters and cooler summers across the region, scientists warn today.

From 2009: Climate change: Gulf stream collapse.
The next Ice Age could take only weeks to engulf Britain. Scientists say the last great disruption to the Gulf Stream 12,800 years ago took only a couple of months to trigger a massive plunge in temperatures across Europe.

www.guardian.co.uk...

From today: There's a mini ice age coming, says man who beats weather experts
Piers Corbyn not only predicted the current weather, but he believes things are going to get much worse,

It is a fact that many of our mass crops grow twenty five percent faster in a high carbon dioxide enviroment.
Think about that when you realize that banks are the true owners of most of the worlds agricultural land and those banks are in reality owned by the governments that provide the discounts to burn coal.

WHY?

DONATIONS and the jobs politions get once they leave the public sector...

You get to feed 25% more people for the same size crop, that's a good bonus for polluting the air you breath.

All very interesting points/articles.

By first hand experience, when I was a kid summer here in Australia began in November with temperatures around 30 degrees (celsius) consistently and for the duration of summer (Dec.-Feb) was consistently 35+ with the odd storm or two thrown in.

Now it has been grey and raining and consistently under 25 degrees since..the end of winter.

Today is about 22 and clear- one of the warmer days we've had recently.
