If you would like to see and learn more about the Sun then I recommend you join zooniverse. It has about 5 or 6 different projects you could help out with. The one for the sun, Solar storm watch, is helping to spot CME. You can track some of them in near real time. It even tells you if you have spotted one that is heading for earth. In the tutorial they explain what alot of what the fuzy, fast moving stuff is. A new project that has just started is about new star formation in the milky way. Spoting the bow shocks "bubbles" in new star forming areas. There are some stunning pictures here. You can map star clusters, nebulae and galacies. Cheak it out.

Venus just had the mother of all solar flares nail it:

There you can see the big swirly coming off the left side of the sun towards Venus. A big asteroid struck the sun in previous frames.

Here's the big swirly solar flare as it expanded out into space:

Also NASA no longer is providing pictures/data. Go to """Search and Download SOHO Near Realtime Data""

Try to pull up data for the past few days. Nothing but 2 photo's per day released...selectively picked.....

They're hiding something.......I think Comet Holmes when it blew up in the solar system in 2007 (explosion bigger than the sun) blew the snot out of the Asteroid Belt and we've got crap flying all over causing a ruckus.

Venus just took a beating.
