So you have one part of society that creates money, and you have another group that's a burden on society, complaining that this trickle down economy doesn't work. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.

What is both funny and sad, as well as sadly funny is that I have asked twice when this trickle down economics is going to stop damaging the economy and start benefiting it. It has been 30 years so far. If it is so funny, tell me what I am missing. Make us all laugh.

So that the kids dont get confused and indoctrinated by communist propaganda, here's an easy and simple version of what trickle-down-economics means:

If I am doing good, I influence others positively. Others have nothing to gain from my poverty.

Hope that helps

Odd statement. "influencing others positively"?? That is a choice and one that often runs contrary to capitalistic instincts. It is an assumption that has been debunked by history. Trickle down has been tried for a 100 years...see horse and sparrow theory circa 1890.

It has never...not once...proven to be anything other than a gift by politicians to the influential and wealthy contributors.

When choosing between Communism and Capitalism it all comes down to the simple question which leftists wont answer: Are you more likely to benefit from my wealth or my poverty?

It is not a choice between communism and capitalism.

It is not a choice between wealth and poverty.

Binary fallacy.

The playing field...the financial markets, the government, the tax code, the loop-holes are all dramatically skewed to benefit the wealthiest. They have a gargantuan lobby in washington DC. They make the campaign contributions. The average tax-payer is playing in a fixed game. The casino always wins in the long run.

If you have the slightest doubt...look at the recent 9-11 responders legislation aimed at providing healthcare for 9-11 first responders who are dying of cancer and other diseaes at an alarming rate.

It wanted to pay for itself via closing corporate tax loopholes for companies that earned all of thier income in the USA, but operated out of a PO Box in the cayman islands or other tax shelters in order to pay zero taxes..

That was a no go with the current senate. We need to level the playing field for capitalism to work.

Trickle up sure doesn't work. Pour money into a poor neighborhood, and you'll see an upswing in parties, drinking, a few chrome car accessories glued on, and a few more babies.

Education and health. Those folks in a poor neighborhood have the same potential as those folks in a rich neighborhood. Opportunity and education makes the difference. The country as a whole loses out and is less competitive in the world when we don't invest in and source all of our resources.

The best way to fight poverty; sterilize the poor.

You have one part of society that literally creates the economy through consumption and demand and one part of society that accumulates and hordes 90% of that economic wealth. It is a recipe for collapse. The car is out of gas and there is no more "credit" for the consumer to "fake it" with. Absent a financially secure middle class...the economy will not recover.

There is no evidence what-so-ever over the past 100 years that suggests increasing the tax rate on the welathiest dampens economic growth...as a matter of fact - it does just th opposite.
