Controversial chemical BPA found on paper money

www.sfgate.com

Bisphenol-A, a hormone-disrupting chemical linked to cancer, diabetes, early puberty and neurological problems, might now be lurking in your wallet.

Twenty-one out of the 22 $1 bills tested in California, 17 other states and Washington, D.C., carried small amounts of the chemical, which is commonly used in plastic bottles as well as in food can liners, adhesives, sports safety gear and dental sealants, according to a report being released today by the group Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families

While most of the world is focused on the dramas of Wiki-Leaks a steady stream of other disturbing news continues to stream out largely overlooked as a result of those distractions, and this highly disturbing story out of the San Francisco Chronicle is a rather important one.

The vast majority of dollar bills being tested have yielded significant trace amounts of a highly toxic chemical that affects the hormones in human beings.

Bisphenol-A linked to a number of severe medical problems and already banned in some countries as a dangerous toxic chemical is being used in large amounts to print heat generated receipts in retail stores around the nation, where trace elements are rubbing off on the money supplies and our hands as we take them often then temporarily storing the receipts next to and mixed in with our cash.

As we become painfully aware that more and more dangerous chemicals are being laced into our food, drinking water, and household implements, that studies clearly show have demonstrative impacts on the health, one really does have to begin to wonder whether our government protection agencies are so inept and corrupt that they fail to regulate and prohibit these things, or if some larger conspiracy on behalf of the pharmaceutical industry to sicken us for profit is underfoot, or even worse still, a silent slow depopulation campaign.

Amazingly the Government and Media have most of us focused on things like ‘terrorist threats’ as the preeminent source of danger to a quality life and security.

Yet it appears that either through ineptitude or graft, or clear cold hearted murderous intent far more sinister threats are endangering and imperiling us with no concern at all evidenced by the government.

Our money supply has long been tainted by trace elements of narcotics like Cocaine but now is heavily tainted with dangerous cancer causing chemicals too.

Could this also perhaps be a plan to so infect the money supply, that the remedy then becomes a cashless society of EFT Debits and Credits giving the banks even more complete control over us?

While theories abound a clear and present danger not being addressed lurks in the money we touch and pass to one another every day.

Are Wiki-Leaks distracting us purposefully from much more sinister and pressing problems?

Bread and Circuses seems to not have gone out of style!

I do not appreciate the insinuation that someone who is speaking out (at great personal cost) against ALL the governments of the world who do wrong in the name of thier people, is being used somehow as a smokescreen for the covert mass murder of huge swathes of the US.
The Wikileaks issue is not a smoke screen... it is the news. Dont get me wrong, I dont like the idea of BPA ending up on the British currency notes at all , and I guess it probably has already since many reciepts here are heat printed, but using this admittedly terrible story to attack the Wikileaks movement (because thats what it has become in the last few days !) is just not on, nor is it remotely proven!
The people RESPONSIBLE for allowing BPA into contact with the multitudes , are the very people that Wikileaks speaks out against, when given the information to do so effectively . Pass this information on to Wikileaks, with some data which proves the US government knows about it , and are treating it as an experiment/mass murder weapon, and trust me, Wikileaks will be up in the face of the media with it faster than a cat up a tree with a doberman behind it.

Yes I am sure, because the world certainly has a right to know that Omar Ghadafi is using 'nurses' from the Ukraine as private personal escorts, is afraid to fly over water, and doesn't like being on any floor besides the ground floor.

These are the kind of things that will truly make a difference in the world. The fact that you would ignore something like this to defend your affintity for such charades kind of displays exactly why the Powers that Be would happily use him as a distracting divide and conquer figure.

The thing that is going to expose the Governments of the world for what they are is the phony banking industry and the debt that the governments use to control the people, debts incurred often to enrich and enable corporate interests like the one pushing these chemicals.

If Assange was so dilligent in his task, he wouldn't be promising a smoking gun that never quite materializes.

Yet that's not what this thread is about, this thread is about the specific issue as posted, with a very prudent reminder that many other things are happening in the world we shouldn't take our eye off of.

Thanks for posting.

Seems like a good idea until you consider the people laboring as cashiers who are touching notes all day long usually with their bare hands.

One would think the risk of exposure would multiply significantly with the actual volume of bank notes you are handling. Then when you place those employees in double jeapordy as they tear of reciept after reciept as these machines that are using this chemical are printed you have the very real likelihood that residue accumulating on their fingers might end up in their mouth, nose or ears, as a result of natural compulsions inherently present in humans.

This is a pretty large number of people being exposed in this fashion.

Thanks for keeping an eye out, ProtoplasmicTraveler. I keep telling myself to not be so focused on wikileaks that I miss some real news, but I've been failing miserably.

Scary stuff here and the worst-case implications are bone chilling. The evidence just keeps adding up that chaos & bitter tears are in our near future.

If it does come down to it: I ain't takin' no chip

Sadly are cell phones, and computers and other smart devices are full of chips. Don't leave home with out them.

I do fear Wiki-Leaks is just a ruse to convince information hungry people that the tip of the iceberg in dirty laundry is the whole iceberg.

I see it as just giving up a little to keep a lot.

Information is power and making Assange a show in the media and the courts is just likely to plant the seed that this was the end all be all of hidden information.

Case solved and closed while the deepest and most compelling crimes go unreported and uninvestigated.

This sure is one of them. How does the EPA and FDA justify this nonsense, where they know that a highly toxic chemical is being used in every day ways that could potentially harm millions, while they have us focused on those lone security risks in the guise of terrorists who at most might kill thousands, while wasting trillions of dollars towards that long shot possibility.

It really is dispicable. The shows that the put on sure can be intriquing but while the show goes on, so does a whole lot of nasty stuff.

Thanks for posting.
