'Empire Strikes Back' director Irvin Kershner dies

87 year old director passed away at his at his Los Angeles home after a 3+ year battle with lung cancer.

In addition to directing 'The Empire Strikes Back' he was also well known for directing the Bond film 'Never Say Never Again' among many others. He also played the character of the priest Zebedee in Scorsese's 'Last Temptation of Christ'

You beat me by 5 minutes. Oh well. I heard this news and was saddened. 'Empire' was the best in the series. I wish he'd of Directed the other 5 films.

Cant be too proud of being the bearer of bad news to the ATS world.

I did find the changes he made to 'Empire' interesting. I had read some of that stuff years ago, just never retained it. I'll remember this time.
